Not so fast my friend. Glass and plastic bottles are twist off, but the sweet, aluminum ones are not. Found this out the hard way on the middle of our golf course when they forgot to send an opener along with us.
I have drunk (no pun intended) over 600 different types of beer from every corner of the world, so I know a bit about beer. There is an easy rule of thumb when it comes to American beer: if it is tasteless macro-brew made for the sole purpose of getting you drunk it's a twist-off; if it's a pretentious micro-brew made to taste good, it could be either; if it's someone's home brew, you need a bottle opener.
Twist off, unless you own a bar then sometimes they have returnable bottles that aren't but I dont see many of those anymore.
