Does going to the drunk tank mean you'll get a citation?!

I'm 20 and was arrested for being intoxicated in public. Now I don't remember being arrested but its my best bet. So I spent the night at a detox center (or drunk tank). The following morning I was released. Since the people working there were not police officers I asked if I got a citation and she told me, if I did the officer would have left it at the front desk for us to give to you.

So whats this mean? Will I get the citation sent home? Did I get let off easy? And is any of this on my record?
