why does beer taste bad? how could people drink it?!

Nobody like beer at first. It's completely an acquired taste, and people drink it because everyone else drinks it. It's expected, for men mostly, that beer should be enjoyed.

Personally, I'm a guy and I can't stand beer. The smell and taste turn my stomach. It was easy to teach my palette to like wine (I now enjoy wine quite a bit), but beer is just so bitter and awful.

your first problem was that you're first experience with beer was a corona, which on tv both sexes drink so it appeals to not only guys (which all beers do) but also to women. so corona for some reason is popular. problem #2 Corona is in a clear bottle, the longer it sits and isn't consumed the "skunkier" it tastes (when the bottle is clear).

try a beer in a dark brown or black bottle like Labatt Blue or Samuel Adams.

....or just add lemon or lime juice to any beer haha.

It's really something you have to get used to. And it always help when you take a couple shots before you drink beer, that way you don't really taste it.

Corona is nasty chihuahua pee bottled up and sold at a premium.

Try a decent domestic craft beer.

I think perhaps your trying the wrong beers. I totally agree Corona is overrated but there are heaps of nice beers on the market, you just have to give a few others a go :)

different tastes, some people like bananas others don't, the same thing applies to all foods and drinks, including beer.

I had this talk with my boyfriend who is a big fan. I got him to admit that guys train themselves to like it so they can be manly.

It's an acquired taste, and things like coke just aren't as nice, too sweet

u just get used to it and after a while u get a taste for it. its acquired, like dark chocolate.

It is VERY nasty at first but then you get used to the taste.
