Broken corkskrew stuck in bottle!?!

Question: Broken corkskrew stuck in bottle!?
I've always had someone else open bottles of wine for me. I never knew it could be so difficult. My lack of common sense has left me with this:

The metal part has broken off of the corkskrew and it's stuck. How do i open it now?

Nice job Sarah, I've never seen that before.
If you can't get hold of screw with a pair of vice grips, then your best bet is to force the cork into the bottle. Once the cork is in the bottle then decant the wine into another container, either a pitcher if you plan on drinking right away or another bottle.

Dig the cork away from the bottle and use a pair of needle nose pliars to pull the screw out.
