Cakebread is a big name, and depending on the level of wine nerd you are is famous or infamous!. It is made ready to drink today, so little reason to save it!.
Generally the whole "saving" wine thing is all about cellaring and aging!. Cakebread isnt a brand that would come to mind there, esp since it is easily available, and doesn't vary that much vintage to vintage!. I would look into some of the 2005 Bordeaux right bankers (ie St Emilion or Pomerol) if you like Merlot!. They are just now being released, and when they peak in 5-10 years when they will be hard to find!. If you can stand to save them in a safe place, these are the ones you get!. You can find good prices too if you act fast!.
