Expiration date on chips?!

Question:

Expiration date on chips?

the bag wasnt open.i popped it open ate afew.then read the exp date was dec 06.is it ok to eat them??they taste and look fine

Answers:
If it's chips, you should be fine, you know they're really old if they smell and taste stale. But you shouldn't even get sick from these chips.

ummm i dunno. just make sure you have enough tp just in case

=P

Yeah, they're fine, as long as they are not soggy or greenish.

if they look fine and taste fine then there should be no problem. normally the expiration date is just a guide date, this tells you that there is a chance the product may no longer be good after that date

Chips do not go bad
all the date is for is a guaranty of freshness
They may just be stale

there is so much sodium and preservatives in them that they will be fine

I would not eat anything with an expired date that far back. It might not be safe.

You should be okay! Generally shelf life is 6 months! Munch on!

It only means a fresh by date, if they are stale then thats why. For foods like that it only means that they guarentee them to taste as they should until the date on the bag

it is fine they usually just put the expiration dates on their to make sure they are sold with in a certain amount of time they usually have a long shelf life as long as they are closed.

That's probably okay. I've eaten packaged dry snack foods that old before and I'm still kicking, but don't do it too often though. Clearly the look and taste were okay so take it easy.
