Answers:
Yes, it should be clearly labeled!. For that matter, labeling in general on foods should be more clear!. "Natural flavors" (like the other terms you mention in your edit) can include a lengthy list of possibilities, and I think they should specify not just for the sake of vegetarians and vegans, but what about people with allergies!? Companies are only required to clearly state whether a product contains or may contain a small percentage of ingredients (the most common few allergies, as milk, egg, peanut, etc!.)!.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think they should be labeled as they may contain animal by products and dairy products which vegans do not eat!. Vegetarians should also know although their diet isn't as restrictive when it comes to meat and animal by products!. It is their choice of what to eat or not eat, so therefore they certainly should know what is in it!.
There could be lard, which is animal fat, even in foods that we wouldn't even think of!. Everything else is labeled, so why not this!? I mean what is in it and not the word vegan or vegetarian, as these people already know what they want or don't want!.
Have a nice day too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes because alot of people are under the allusion that all vegan/vegetarians chose their lifestyle because they are crazy animal rights activists!.

Alot of people go vegan/vegetarian for health reasons and find they cant tolerate certain animal products or are allergic or get weird side effects!. My mother had to give up (only milk not cheese weirdly) and is always tiptoeing around suspscious foods because for example: some cake, even if she had a little bit of that she drowns in rashes and it's not pretty!.

Theres these products at my grocers from this food company and they are all labeled suitable for vegan/vegetarians which is pretty cool but i don't think a little extra space for some info would be detrimental to the layout of the packaging if everyone did it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I think they should, because we should all be able to easily tell if a food product contains something that we're morally opposed to eating!. For the people bitching about taxes, I would be willing to pay more in taxes for it, because I'm not a cheap ***, and it would be money well-spent!. Better yet, tax the meat companies who waste 16 times as much food as they produce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

what are they talking about taxes, are these people idiots!? yes I agree, I once rang up a food manufacturer to find out if a food was vegetarian, it said flavor on the list of ingredients on the packet what does this mean it could mean anything I suggested to her what you are saying she gave some dumb reply about they would have to write on it if it was suitable or not for other diets and it may put off meat eaters, off the product I told her I though that was crap by the way gelatin is always animal derived I think from cows Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it would be nice or at least list at the bottom in bold letters: contains meat, or milk, or eggs!.
Some companies do this but not all!.

I would still have to double check the ingredients anyway because who knows if they consider honey not vegan!. Or glycerin (when they don't know if its animal derived)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

YES!
I picked out some hostess cupcakes the other day, I had eaten them before (:/) and in the checkout line I was reading the ingrediants!.!.!. BEEF FAT!! I was so upset and pissed, I put them back and I'm not eating anything from hostess ever again!

Ignore ashley and all his other accounts!.!.!. that's what i do!.

Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, because you might eat something that you think is vegetarian/vegan, but it could have a hidden ingredient in it that you aren't supposed to have!. I had a wonderful vegan Thanksgiving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

to me,in my opinion, either, its how you word it,for example, uhh, pretend theres a protest against red meat, annnd, they have a banquet,&its nothing but vegetarian dishes,it all depends on how you say or word it to make it make sense Www@FoodAQ@Com

no, i believe they should label pre packaged foods if it has animal by products; much like how they have allergy warnings for peanuts and soy ect!.!.!.

it would of course have to be a responsibility of the manufacturer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I completely agree!. I often have problems deciding whether or not an item is vegetarian! It would make my life so much easier and i think that we should convince food companies to lable all vegetarian food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!. why do they put animal (bi-)products in foods not relating to animals anyway!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, i have a hard time finding meat free food and if i eat meat i get sick so if they say no meat on it i would more likely buy it then if they didn't say no meat Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only if they start taxing vegetarians more, cuz i'm not payin for it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

No

THEY made the choice to go veg!.
Their lifestyle!.
Their responsibility!.

As a meat eater i don't want to have to pay some stupid tax or pay more for food because we have to hire some stupid inefficient government or FDA idiots to go around and decide what can and cannot have this label on it!.

I already pay extra for your hippie kids vegetarian lunches at school, that's where i draw the line!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
