I wont eat deer or veal, but i am not a vegetarian. am i a hypocrite?!

My question is, and I believe I already know the answer, why have you chosen only a select few animals that you refuse to eat!? Is it because you think their lives are more valuable than say a chicken or a pig!? Why do you value a deer's life more!? Is it because you think they're cuter than a chicken or a pig!?

Depends on why you don't eat them!. If you think they don't taste good, then no!. If you think there's something inherently worse about eating veal or a deer than there is about eating factory farmed cow, pig, or chicken, then yes!. I would say that eating deer is probably the least cruel out of all of them!. I'm not a vegetarian either, but I think that our farming practices need to be changed!. I try to buy humane products if I can find or afford them, and I try to decrease the amount of meat I eat!. If I had access to deer, I would jump at the chance!. I think it's much more humane than eating animals who have been farmed using conventional methods!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
My parents don't eat pork because they are Jewish, and in addition to that my mom doesn't eat veal or beef because my grandparents lived on a farm and had a cow that was kind of a pet to her!.
I don't eat meat now, but even when I did, I didn't eat foie gras because I considered it unusually cruel!. My husband is a big meat eater, but he could never imagine eating a dog or a guinea pig because we keep them as pets and our dogs are our babies!. He nearly passed out when we saw dog on the menu in Seoul!.
It's not entirely rational, but it's not uncommon, and I wouldn't call it hypocritical unless you yell at other people because they eat deer or veal!. I used to become preachy when somebody ordered foie gras in my company, so that would have made me a hypocrite when I still ate meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not eat deer or veal either!. I am allergic to venison!.!.!. and I do think veal is all that exciting!. I do not eat fish, pork, ham, little beef!. I am not a vegetarian, I would get really sick without chicken or turkey in my diet!. I think it's all personal preferences!. My husband (until now when he comes home from work to tell me he's going vegetarian) would have eaten it all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No, those are just your food choices!. No different from anyone who won't eat a particular food because of personal taste!.
