I know this sounds odd, but the idea of eating meat makes me feel ill?!

Question: I know this sounds odd, but the idea of eating meat makes me feel ill!?
I'm a vegan and I have never had a physical issue with eating meat but lately, the idea of eating meat or drinking milk!.!.!. Makes me feel ill!.
If I can smell steak I almost puke, it is horrid!.
Like, I feed my dogs eggs (please no "make your dog a vegan as well" comments that is unhealthy for a dog on many levels) with their meals and the smell makes me sick!.
Is this normal for a vegan!?
Or will it pass!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I walked into a resort cabin one day and it hadn't been cleaned from the lasts guests and they must've had bacon and eggs that morning, the smell was strong!. I had to leave, before I turned violently ill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it is relatively normal for a vegan!. I'm vegan too, and when I first did (about a year and a half ago), animal products didn't bother me too much!. I was saddened by the idea of their production, but they didn't physically gross me out!. I also used to cook meat for my family!. But over time, it's even hard for me to prepare meat!. I actually have been able to get out of it by preparing all the side dishes and marinade and having my guy do it, LOL!. He doesn't mind!. Eggs in particular make me sick, too!. My guy prepared them this morning for our foster children and I had to leave!. We made Hamburger Helper for them last night and the ground beef was just sooo gross!. I threw the potatoes in the oven and let him take care of the rest!. I guess it's just a mental thing that if you try to get over it, you probably will, since you know that your dogs shouldn't be vegan!. Thanks for bringing attention to this matter for me, I'll have to think about it too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are right!. Since about 95% of people eat meat without feeling the way you do, that is odd by definition!. But then again, within your own subculture, that segment which comprise the 2 to 5% vegetarian or vegan, it would be considered "normal"!.

But don't see why such a thing would bother you one way or the other!. So you feel sick at the sight, smell and thought of eating meat!. Big deal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i dont believe for one second its actually the smell of meat cooking that makes you!.!.!.rather the fact the someone is cooking meat to eat!.!.!.!.the smell simply triggers thoughts in your head and associate it with cooking meat!.!.!.and since you dont like meat being cooked for someone to eat its obvious the smell would trigger these feelings!.!.!.!.so infact its not the smell itself!.!.!.but the smell triggers feelings you haveWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes this is normal me and my two Friends are veggies and when they feed their dog and three cats it stinks sooo bad!. Funny story the other day they ran out of dog food and they had to cook one of their mums chicken breast's apparently they nearly broke down int teers because it made them feel so sick and it mad a mess everywhereWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well I am not vegan, only vegetarian, but I do feel the same way!. I have always had a problem with the smell!. I think it is because of what we associate the smells with (abuse, burning flesh) that makes us feel ill!. I don't really know how to overcome it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't stand the smell of women having their hair permed!. I've hated that smell since I was very young!. I'm 60 now and still detest it, so bearing that in mind, if you feel that bad with the smell, the chances are you will always feel that way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In Kenya two tribes, the Maasai and the Kikuyu, live in the same country, the same climate, the same political system and the same environment!. The Maasai, when wholly carnivorous, drinking only the blood and milk of their cattle, were tall, healthy, long-lived and slim!. The Kikuyu, when wholly vegetarian, were stunted, diseased, short-lived and pot-bellied!. Over the last few decades, the Kikuyu have started to eat meat — and their health has improved!. Since 1960 the Maasai diet has also changed, but in the opposite direction!. They are now eating less blood, milk and meat, replacing it with maize and beans!.
