What do you call someone following a vegan diet but who still wears wool and leather?!

Question: What do you call someone following a vegan diet but who still wears wool and leather!?
The only leather thing I own is my wallet, and I've been through that on a previous post!.
I don't think I have any wool!.
So, what would you call that person!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'd call them a strict vegetarian because veganism, according the the definition given by the man who invented the word is

'a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment!.'

I didn't see your other post; if you owned the wallet before you went vegan then you are no less a vegan for using it until it wears out and then replacing it with a vegan alternative - that's what most new vegans do!.

And it's still a good idea to tell caterers, restaurants, people whose homes you're eating in etc that you're a vegan; that way you stand a chance of getting a meal that's acceptable to you, rather than one containing dairy, eggs - or even fishWww@FoodAQ@Com

A dietary vegan!. Some people just don't believe in eating any animal products, whereas other believe in not using any animal products!. It's their belief system!. It really depends on your own personal definition of veganism!.

(Incidentally, I think use of leather is hugely different to use of wool!. You have to kill the animal to get the leather!.!.!.sheep grow wool all the time, it's like a haircut to them! As long as they didn't have to suffer, it's fine, in my opinion!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on why they're vegan!. If they're doing it for their health and they think it's the best diet around, then they're vegans!. If they're doing it because they don't believe in animal cruelty or because they're against the exploitation of animals for human benefit, then they're called hypocrites!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A person who eats a diet free of all animal products but still uses/wears animal products is called a "strict vegetarian"!.

Veganism is the practice of avoiding all animal products whether it be food, clothing, or health or beauty products tested on animals!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegetarian with vegan dietary tendencies!. Veganism is a lifestyle choice, not just a diet choice!. You can't be part vegan!. You either are or you aren't!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd call them a "strict vegetarian" because the term "vegan" usually applies to people doing the whole lifestyle, not just the diet!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
