Well if there is your digestive tract may have something to say about it. Tiny seeds such as those can cause diverticuli.

If you happen to swallow an apple seed it is not big deal because you likely won't digest it, but if you grind them up and eat them in large quantities then you have a problem as they contain small amounts of cyanide.

True... and the seeds of some other fruits like Apricots and Peaches contain contain a substance called Amygdalin: harmless on it's own but produces cyanide when broken down in the body.

I heard they can be somewhat toxic.
