Drinking coffee before bed?!

Question: Drinking coffee before bed?
So what would most likely happen if I was really tired and I'm about to go to sleep, but then I drink a cup of coffee right before I fall asleep. Would I be able to fall asleep and stay asleep?

Yeah I actually find that when I'm trying to sleep (not common for me) a cup of coffee will actually help (believe it or not, I'm serious, I'm not being sarcastic), because there are three parts to the affects of caffeine: semi-crash (a moment of sleepiness that only lasts maybe a minute or two), the alertness that lasts a couple hours, and then the real crash. In that first semi crash, I can fall asleep so fast. That's what ruined a heck of a lot of attempted all-nighters. And the alertness doesn't come while you're asleep. That's only my experience, my sleeping patterns are really screwed up and I'm a full time coffee drinker but that's what I've observed.

Coffee is a stimulant it would probably keep you from falling asleep. On the same subject my mom used to drink coffee to help her go to sleep. Go figure.

I drink coffee all day everyday an hav no problem falling asleep @ nite..it actually helps me fall asleep..every bodys body reacts differently to caffeine..it doesn't affect me

My body

if you drink decaff you should be fine. it shouldnt keep you up. my dad drinks coffee before he goes to sleep but im not sure that its decaff and he has no trouble sleeping execpt for his snoring hahahaha

It depends on how much caffeine in your coffee, how your nerve react to that, how tired you are...Why not have your sleep first, then report to us. haha

You would not be able to fall asleep anymore.

i don't recommend it because it does make you energetic and just make you go to the bathroom
