Just drank 2 cups of tea, will this keep me up?!

Question:

Just drank 2 cups of tea, will this keep me up?

Hi, i was tired, so I drank 2 cups of tea, with a pack of splenda in each. If the average coffee has about 100mg of caffeine, how much does tea have? if you dont know the number, at least would 2 cups of tea have more caffeine than a cup of coffie? I understand that the amount of caffeine varies on how its made. I made it by filling a cup with boiling watter, then soaking a tea bag in it for about 1 min, then added a little milk. and drank. thanks! -George

Answers:
If you normally drink tea every day, it will not keep you up. If you seldom drink tea, then it will.

The same applies to coffee. I used to drink lots of coffee to keep awake during night duty but it had no effect. --- Another George

Tea and coffee each have about the same amount of caffeine.

no tea is a re laxative and a internal organ cleaner but also depends on what type of tea you drink, such as green tea or other herbal teas.

Assuming that your tea has caffeine, it should keep you awake. However, if you need to stay alert for a length of time, it's not a good idea to take in caffeine all at once, as it will bring you up quickly, but you'll drop just as quickly when it wears off. The best thing to do is to have your caffeine in small doses spread out over a length of time. That way, you'll always have the caffeine in your system to keep you alert, but not so much that you get fidgety.

The average tea has 50 mg..but can vary between 25-60, just like the range in coffee is between 60 and 120. so I think 2 average cups of tea might keep you up as long as one cup of coffee.

But I see that you steeped the tea for a minute. If it was black tea, it should have been steeped longer...4-6 minutes. So maybe you didn't have that much caffeine. I think it won't keep you up that much...next time drink decaf tea...there is about 5 mg in decaf tea.

Green tea green tea . it's more healthy then black tea or coffie.
