Is organic tofu considered to be a 'processed food?'?!

Question:

Is organic tofu considered to be a 'processed food?'?

Im considering going vegetarian & am reading up on the pros & cons before I decide. I keep reading articles & comments advising me to avoid processed foods, which is great advice anyway... but is the packaged organic tofu I often buy in the shops a 'processed food?' If it is, how can I eat tofu & avoid processed food?

Answers:
PROCESSING can either be GOOD OR BAD, do not get HUNG UP on the lingo in that way... I mean I guess what they fail to tell you is JUST what I mention.... the QUESTION is : "was it processed in a SAFE WAY or is it DANGEROUS."

Taking WHEAT from a field and then GRINDING it into FLOUR is a PROCESS, the question is "how did they do it?" Did they USE an OK MECHANICAL METHOD or did they DUMP VATS of sick chemcials on the wheat to derive the flour.... the same can be asked of the SOYBEAN to the TOFU... the problem I see with TOFU today is how most of what I see is PROCESSED or packaged with some sort or MINERAL which to me is dangerous it gives me a headache otr makes my HAIR FALL OUT, perhaps.... I JUST WANT SOYBEANS AND WATER or if you have other plant based "water mixes" that it soaks in that is one thing ... but for sure the available TOFU that I see on todays market is not really where we want it to be.

ORGANIC can be good or bad, is it "dirty organics" or HEAVY MINERAL organics or is it CLEAN SOOTHING organics... sometimes WORDS HAVE MORE THAN ONE MEANING and so as to say...

I wish I coould get in touch with the RIGHT PEOPLE so I could MAKE CHANGES in the RIGHT DIRECTION for all so many... YOUNG AND OLD... it's about CHANGING the FACE OF WHAT IS AVAILABLE in some cases and then MEDIA EXPLANATIONS for others...

There is alot more I could say if you want, you can message me or ask further questions.. but first CHECK out my sites.

It is processed, but not really a processed food. Eat and enjoy.

If it's organic tofu then it's not processed particularly if you are buying the kind with no flavors added. Actually, tofu is one of the better choices for soy protein. I eat a lot of tofu and all of it is organic. I have gone almost entirely vegetarian as it makes sense to my body as a yoga practitioner (I know you practice:))
As many foods are just too heavy. Another thing to research is Ayurvedic eating. I'm onto that next as it is actually the yogic way to eat. England has incredible resources for Ayurveda.
Eating vegetarian is tricky but can be done if you pay attention to balance.

Tofu is not your typical processed food, no chemicals, additives or unhealthy/unnatural processing used. Just your organic soy (processed) chopped/ground, drained of it juice/whey and formed into blocks for use and stored in natural brine. Comes in many states from soft to extra firm depending on your choice of use/recipe.
Excellent natural form of calcium and protein.
ENJOY!
