How about stuffed french toast (if he eats dairy) with stawberries and whipped cream on top? It's really easy, but looks and tastes elegant. Here's a recipe:
French bread
1 teaspoon cream cheese
1 teaspoon favorite preserve mixture
Plus, for each egg used in the batter, add the following:
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
PREPARATION:
Slice French bread about 1 inch thick.
Cut a pocket through the top crust of each slice, but not all the way through.
Insert cream cheese and your favorite preserve mixture.
Dip in batter and cook on griddle until done.
As for a gift, I always find a nice magazine subscription is a good gift that gives all year long, and he can look forward to it every month or so.
How about strawberry or blueberry pancakes..... a little orange juice.....some coffee or tea and an afternoon of Cricket..???
um... it depends on how your father is... but usually they will settle for a breakfast at a diner, or restaurant, and for a gift is a tie, or gift card, or even tools if he is a handyman.
Lucky you! your dad is still with you! It is wonderful you are planning a breakfast with him for father's day! Try a vegeitarian menu, with morning star foods, and pancakes/waffles! enjoy, and savor!
I agree if he Loves Pancakes by all means make them for him .. but spell something out on them with the Fruit . strawberries are easy to make letters from ... . Like I love you .. or greatest dad .. you get the idea .. have the entire meal coffee or tea .. some warmed up syrup .. make a beautiful presentation .. Just think of all the five senses and fill them .. Hearing /have music He likes playing softly in background ... taste /food ... smell food and /or candle .. touch something sliced he can eat with his hands / as fruit wedges and a cloth napkin ... site ..maybe most important when he reads what you wrote .. and sees what you have prepared just for him .. perhaps a card and you could rent (or buy) a cricket video .. Let him be King for a day .. enjoy
