ME TOO.. luv the BBQ sauce.
I like it on baked potatoes.. also if you eat fish it can work. I saw a ad for BBQ Peanuts done on the grill. Look at the Planters website.
I'm thinking bbq zucchini might be good with like lemon pepper. I'd tried bbq vegetables because they are delicious and it would help keep consistent with the flavors you associate with bbq sauce.
Try one of those huge mushrooms on the barbecue grill.
When it is 'done' brush on the sauce and cook a couple more minutes.
Also try it on a Vidalia Onion.
mmmmmmmm good!
Sweet and Spicy Tofu
* 1 pound extra firm tofu, well pressed and sliced into 3/4
inch rectangles
* 3/4 cup barbeque sauce
* 3/4 cup brown sugar
* 1 tsp chili powder
* 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
* 3/4 cup orange juice concentrate
* salt and pepper to taste
PREPARATION:
Whisk together the barbecue sauce, sugar, chili powder, pepper and orange juice over medium low heat until well combined, about 3 minutes.
Place the barbecue sauce mixture in a wide flat dish, and place the tofu in the sauce, coating both sides well.
Allow to marinate for at least two hours.
Grill for 4 or 5 minutes on each side, brushing with additional sauce.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper just before serving.
Try barbecued eggplant. Slice the eggplant about 3/4 inch thick and soak it in salted water for a half hour. This takes out the bitterness. Then grill it until it is tender and at the very last smear it with the barbecue sauce. MMMMMM!
why dont u have a bbq? have the vegetraian sausages/burgers and so on... and use it then. Theres not really much else i cant hink of as im not vegetraian, but go round the shops and see what meats they do in vegetarian versions for bbq's. best chance is to try them out.
Those huge mushrooms (portobella) are the way to go.They fit nicely on a hamburger bun. Just brush a little olive oil on them, and grill them for 2 to 3 minutes a side. If you eat cheese, a little Parmesan on top is nice. Also, if you serve it with the curved side up, it makes a nice cup for extra sauce
I use bbq sauce all the time, it's one of my favorites.. I like it use it to make a bbq chicken sandwich using some fake chicken strips, cooked/grilled. Another one I like to make is veggie chicken patties chopped up and put in bbq sauce on PIZZA. mmm.. greasy [vegetarian] american food. :D
