Vegetarian pizza crust?
I have just started being on a veggie diet and I am quite excited about it. I have found some good sites with some good recipes, but would appreciate if everyone could post some of their faves as well.
I would like to make some vegetarian pizza this weekend and does anyone know of a good "pre-made" crust that is vegetarian?

"Oldfootloose" I could really care less about points. If you bothered to read my whole statement it wasn't just about pizza crust. Also, since I said I just started this diet I thought I would ask. So... don't be a dick. :)

Most pizza crust is vegetarian - it's the toppings you put on that matter!
I use a brand called Rustic Crust Organic. I made pizza last night, actually.
I used Follow Your Heart cheese for the first time!

I made the mistake of tasting it cold first - blech!
But I grated it up (mozerella and cheddar both) and gave it a shot anyway. I sprinkled onions and some little fake-pepperoni pieces on top (jerquee 'fines" are awesome for this).

We are newly dairy-free so thre's a lot of foods we've just figured we'd never enjoy again. Pizza doesn't have to be one of them!
And neither do salami sandwiches. I recently tried Yves salami slices and alone they suck, but a sandwich, YUM! My husband is really thrilled about that one.
Anyway, enjoy your pizza! Try it without a bunch of fatty cheese on it and your body will be even happier!
I have two little secrets to tell you. Amy's brand foods in the freezer section of grocery stores sells an amazing vegan pizza selection. I love them all. Second, Little Ceasars uses vegan crust in all their pizzas. All you have to do is ask for no cheese. As far as pre-made crust I don't know of anyplace that has them pre-made. Sorry.
Sorry, I don't know of any pre-made crusts, but I do have a good recipe from this cookbook: ExtraVeganZa by Laura Matthias.
To make three thin crust pizzas, you will need:
2 cups warm water
2 tbsp baking yeast
2 tbsp brown rice syrup
2 tbsp coarse sea salt
4 tbsp olive oil
4 cups whole spelt flour
2 cups light spelt flour
DRX: Pour the warm water into a bowl and add the yeast. Stir in the brown rice syrup and set aside for 5 minutes. Add the salt and oil and stir together. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the flours together, creating a well in the center. Pour the yeast mixture into the center of the flour well and slowly stir together until a soft dough is formed. Use your hands to knead the dough for 5-10 minutes. Make a round ball with your dough and place it back in the large bowl. Dribble some olive oil over it and rub it around to coat the ball of dough. Place a wet towel over the bowl and set it in a warm place to rise for about 2 hours.
Punch the dough down and separate it into three equal parts. Knead each part into a ball then place some flour on a flat surface and begin rolling one ball of dough with a rolling pin.
When you have rolled the dough to the thickness and size you want, lift it onto a slightly oiled baking sheet. Place the sheet in a 375 degree preheated oven. Bake the dough for about 3-4 minutes. Repeat process with other dough.
When the dough is all prebaked, you can add your favorite toppings and then bake each pizza again for 20-25 minutes. The dough can also be frozen after it has been prebaked for the first time and saved for another day.

If your going to buy a crust CHECK the contents LABEL...

Most crusts are vegetarian. There is no use for lard in pizza crusts.
Stuffed zucchini- hollow out zuccs and make them into little boats, take the part you scooped out and throw into a bowl with some cooked vege-burger and other fresh veges and mix , fill zuccs , top with cheese (if you still eat cheese) and toss into oven. GREAT! Takes 10 min.
