Only 1 hr till Lunch.. Help me make a quick decision!!?!
Only 1 hr till Lunch.. Help me make a quick decision!!?
I'm a vegetarian who's on a pretty tight diet to lose a ton of weight. Anyway.. I have 3 choices for lunch, so give me your input!
Choice A: 1/2 bowl of vegetable soup and small salad
Choice B: Big Salad
Choice C: Whole bowl of soup.
which should I do? I can't decide! ARGGGhh
BTW.. I pretty much have to stick to those things. I live alone, and don't have alot of diffferent food in my houses at the moment, so I don't cheat. For example, there's no bread in my house right now, cuz I love bread but eat too much if it's around!! Anyway
LOL..

The soup has a tomato sauce base, vegetables, potatoes, and tiny seashell pastas.

Thanks for all the great insights!! I think I will go for the combo. But I think I'll make the whole can of soup (it's only 200 odd calories, after all) AND have a moderately sized salad. I just have to watch the dressing and crutons!

after all, Lunch is my main meal. Breakfast and supper are just fruit and juice!

I'd go with A. At least you have a little bit of variety. I find that when I just eat soups, I'm starving 30 minutes later.
If you do end up getting the munchies, eat some low fat yogurt or those yummy little carrot bites..they're so sweet tasting. It keeps your metabolism going strong throughout the day. BTW, complex carbs like rice and pasta are the good carbs you can feel good about eating. The bad carbs are the sugary stuff like cokes, anything with high fructose corn syrup, gross.
a
I would go with choice A because your getting a variety in small portions. When trying to lose weight you want to try and eat the same portions throughout the day instead of having a little breakfast and a BIG lunch. Its doing nothing for you. So I would go with Choice A
B
B- liquid will fill you up, but only temporary. The salad will have more "bulk."
A). More Variety
Choice A: 1/2 bowl of vegetable soup and small salad
get something warm into your stomach too!
B Ceasar if possible
Have a nice big salad, especially if it is a sunny and warm day,if not have the soup, yum yum
i would suggest choice A. because u have a lot of variety in one meal and it also have many vitamins.
All three.
CHOICE A!!
eat both!! choice A
I would say to go for one full bowl of soup. It sounds delicous, fufilling, and light at the same time.
Good luck on your diet!!!
Choice A. That soup sounds really good. By the time you're eating salad your stomach will start to feel satisfied from the soup.
whole bowl of soup sounds pretty good
i think choice B
Definitely A
If you have a little of this and a little of that you won't feel cheated. The hardest part of a diet is overcoming the mental. Sometimes if you feel deprived then you'll eventually give up the diet.
One thing that helped me is to not call it a diet.
You are changing your eating habits.
Try to implement and focus on a healthy eating habit every one or two weeks. For instance, this week I will focus on getting those 8 glasses water/day or having that one piece of fresh fruit first thing in the morning. Or if I am going to have that piece of bread, it will have to be worthwhile, it can only be one slice for today, it can only be 15 whole grain, etc.
When it finally becomes second nature to you then you can focus on your next new habit. Without realizing it you will just watch those pounds shed.
choice a seems the best you get a little of both
I like corn flakes...
Combo for sure
Why are you only eating one meal a day and drinking juices. I hope you're not planning on staying on a diet like that for very long. Just fruit, soup, and salad? That's not healthy. Instead of starving yourself you should FEAST on fresh veggies and save fruit for morning and a late-night snack. Losing weight on the diet you described is not healthy and you will likely gain any weight you lose right back very quickly. Losing one or two pounds a week is healthy - five small (HEALTHY) meals is healthy. Google yourself a vegetarian food pyramid! Your diet is destined to fail. Be sensible about it if you want to make lifelong changes in your weight.
I don't know if you've eaten yet, but I'd choose A -- there's variety in texture and flavor, so you'll be satisfied longer.
Enjoy! :-)
I would go for the combo, small amounts but you can have the best of both worlds and besides the vegetable soup will wash away those salads.
