Eggs in coffee??!

Question:

Eggs in coffee??

I have a new egg allergy. Some of the "do not eat" lists have coffee on it. Some just say cappaccinos and latees, because eggs are used in the foamy topping. Is this why coffee is listed? Can I have a regular iced coffee with some milk in it??? I would appreciate help from people who know from experience, not just guesses. thanks!

Answers:
Ive never heard of the foam using eggs!! How strange...its normally just steamed milk..(or soy if you prefer!)

But Id say you are safe. Especially if you are making your own coffee. Ive never known any coffee bar to have eggs in their coffee, latte or not.

Worked in two coffee bars :)

no

That is gross with a capital G, big time!!!!!!

you might want to ask your doctor. You should be able to have iced coffee because there are no eggs in coffee.

that is odd.... you should no problem with coffee without foam..

While I'm not sure what ingredients are in the powdered "instant" cappuccinos... REGULAR lattes, mochas, cappuccino, etc do NOT have egg in them. Just milk & coffee (and whatever flavor you choose). Milk froths/foams on it's own due to the air being blown into it (you can get the same, though temporary, effect by shaking milk real good)... there's no egg in it.

Coffee is a berry from a plant, therefore, it does not contain egg products. Drink it black and you will be OK.

Be careful of some peoples coffee. An old university classmate was famous for his all nighter coffee, a very strong coffee he made following a military combat condition coffee that included eggs or eggshells in the brewing. It was very strong and might have set off allergic reactions.

I've got another rather nasty allergy and have learned to ask if the dishes have peanuts, almonds, or other nuts.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but be on the safe side and use Soymilk instead of dairy products. They won't upset your stomach and it's much healthier! :D

I've heard of people putting eggshells in the grinds... I have no idea why... but I have heard of it before...

Are you buying coffee somewhere?... I doubt they would put eggshells in the grinds... I am not sure though... I don't even know anyone that does that...lol

Sounds to me like you could still have your iced coffee... all it is, is coffee- milk- sugar- ice ... right?... then you should be fine...
ohh now I want coffee... I take mine with soy milk and raw sugar though :] yum... yeah, I'm gonna go make some coffee! thanks! lol
