Pus in ice cream?!
Pus in ice cream?
On PETAs website
"Remember going to Baskin-Robbins when you were just a wee tot? Well, fear not―you can keep on strollin' down memory lane. Go for the dairy-free and gelatin-free Ices and Sorbets, which are just as yummy and cooling as ice cream, sans the pus."
I'm new to the vegetarian/vegan thing and am still learning exactly what animal sourced ingredients are in foods. What do they mean "pus?" That's not just a gross way of saying milk is it?
Answers:
When cows are milked on modern-day factory farms (which is not what they were meant to do, think of a human whose baby is taken away and her boobs hooked to a machine), they develop mastitis and infections that result in white blood cells appearing in the milk. It is not a myth. Look at dairy industry websites and they have pus counts. It's up to you what you choose to consume, however.

pus is the stuff that comes out of like pimples..... but peta and others have a way of twisting things. For instance. Sweat is the same substance of urine. So, if you eat a cow and then part of the skin they can say that you were eating urine soaked animals which is chemically correct but in reality far from correct. In reality its normal milk. They just twist words like everyone else.
Pus is the yellow goo in an infection or pimple. I have no idea what they're saying - or implying - here. Good thing I prefer sorbet!
Cherie is 100% correct here is a link for you to read on BGH
http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/bg... it is the hormone used on large dairy farms to increase the average cows milk supply by almost 15% thus causing mastitas and other problems that require the use of antibotics. All of which are slightly secreted into regular milk, since there os no test to determine exactly how much pus, BGH and or antibotics you may only get a little or a substantial amount. You should consider organic milk....NO BGH or Antiboptics.
Milk is full of pus because in the farms they hook the cows to electric machines and it is painful to cows. Peta has an email card thing, its called "What they never told you". Check it out! It is heartwreching to think of what they do to these animals!
The pus would come from the overmilked and diseased utters of commercially farmed milk. Commercial milk also contains growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, and many other gross things. Commercial chocolate milk was invented to cover traces of blood in milk., Raw, organic milk is the best option.
