Vegetarians: Substitute meat?!
Vegetarians: Substitute meat?
I know that vegetarians avoid meat. But why would you eat something that taste, feel, and looks like meat. The same thing that reminds of the thing your trying to avoid?

People have asked me this before too. But my husband eats meat... and he has tried my "meat substitutes"... and he says.... "they are nasty"...... So I don't think they really taste like meat.... I don't remember what meat really tastes like... I think the substitutes (most of them) taste good.... but to a meat-eater...... maybe not so much....
To each their own...
Vegetarians choose that lifestyle for different reasons, and some of them don't really want to give up the flavor and texture of meat, but do it for health or personal reasons and they still want to enjoy the meat eating experience.
good for folks trying to decide if they could go vegetarian without having to give up the texture or eye appeal
I don't think the argument was ever about taste per-say... For me it is truly about the care and welfare of animals. It is amazing to me how horrible we can treat animals... If you have any idea or thought it is appropriate at all look into kentuckyfriedcruelty.com.... might help open some people eyes...
Fake meat does not remind me of real meat because there is no blood or a face. I use Worthington products; it's basically a vegetarian protein roll. I don't remember how meat taste, but I doubt it taste like any of the products that I use, and it does not feel or look like real meat.
"Substitute meat" does not remind me of anything I am avoiding...I know it's not flesh and that's all that counts. Besides that, a veggie dog or Boca burger does not look like any animal I ever saw.
because you know that its not actually meat. im a vegetarian and when i wasnt a vegetarian i loved meat. i still think it tastes good, but never eat it. the point of eating it is to subsitute meat with something that tastes just like it without hurting animals
