Do you eat products with Quorn in them without knowing what it is?
Answers:
I bought some Quorn breaded chik'n patties after reading a bit about the product - there's some comfort foods I do occasionally miss since becoming a vegetarian. I couldn't believe how much like real chicken it was - in taste, texture, everything! However, I tried to do some research as to EXACTLY what Quorn is and I didn't have much luck. The company seems to not want to show us what the stuff looks like - I googled my butt off and couldn't find any real picture of the stuff. Although it's a fungus, it's definitely not mushroom. I try not to eat too many processed foods anyway so I took it as a sign that I shouldn't bother with it. It may be a nutritional food, but I have a suspicion it might be junk. I hope someone posts a link to a picture of what Quorn really is!
No - I've read it's mostly a particular fungus and I used to eat Quorn when I was just vegetarian. Unfortunately, Quorn products have eggs and I'm vegan, so I don't eat them now.
