Both me and my friend are becoming vegetarians and we need tips:
What are are some Do's and Don'ts of being a vegetarian?
(we know not to eat meat.)
What other foods contain protein?
Is it better for your health?
Please answer.

also i hear that Veggs. cannot eat diary prouducts? but thats not considered meat....

As the mom of a vegan, (more strict than a vegetarian) I can tell you what she likes and doesnt like. Shes 17 and picky!
Edemame is found in the frozen section of your grocery store. Microwave them straight out of the bag with a quarter cup of water and salt. Microwave according to directions. Do not eat the pods, simply squeeze out the beans inside into your mouth.
They are YUMMY and stock full of protein. Addictive!
Become a fan of veggie sandwiches- here is a goodie. Switch it up to your individual tastes:
(I am assuming you will still eat dairy)
On your favorite bread
spread mustard mixed with a touch of honey on one slice
sliced avocado
provolone cheese
tomato slices
salt and pepper
basil leaves
onion slices
Wheat germ (not weird, it is good, just use a teaspoon or so)
cucumber
smoked gouda cheese
alfalpha sprouts
grated carrot sprinkled on top
mayonaise on other slice
cream cheese if desired
Cut in half before eating. You may need to smash it down a bit!
Other things try:
Apple and Stilton cheese with lettuce and walnuts and the mustard honey mixture before, add dried cranberries if desired to this sandwich.
Research and have fun! You will be healthier and skinnier on this diet.
I just decided to be a vegetarian also. Will be reading the answers for my benefit.
Protein is included in chicken, fish, nuts and tofu.
I just stopped my vegetarian diet after 2 years (once again.) I had to give it a break because my health was getting bad. Instead of doing the rights, I did the wrongs---only ate junkfood.
It's horrible.
Also, you have to make sure to take iron pills if you don't eat healthy because you can become anaemic (and then, you'll be as moody as a pregnant woman.)
Try not to eat out at authentic resteraunts because different types of them cook their foods in pig fat instead of vegetable oil. You should also try going to your closest Whole Foods Store to purchase some grubs.

Rules of being a vegetarian? Well, don't eat meat
Depends on what kind of vegetarian your becoming, but since you haven't stated any of the concern on what 'rules' are for what type of vegetarian, shows you don't know about that, meaning, you only want to be a non-meat eater, lala, soo...moving on
Beans, any types of beans, fried beans to soy beans contain a gracious amount of protein
vegetables, especially green vegetables contain protein
soy milk does to
peanut butter
eggs
look into a the daily recommendations food calender (food chart) and go under meat and substitutes
anything from under substitutes Will have lots of protein food choices

yogurt.
eggs (Brown Free Range/Cage Free).

and you know vegetarians live longer than anyone.
eat lots of nuts and tofu(its not that bad), they have a lot of protein, and yes it is better for ur health.
Do's:
eat as much veggies(salads),veggie products(ex.veggie burgers), nuts and tofu as u can, remember u have to make up the vitamins ur missing from not eating meat
Don'ts:
slack off and not stick to ur diet
p.s. if u wanna go veggie u can eat honey, dairy products, and eggs, if u want to go vegan u cant eat any of those
