Should I report my neighbor if?!
Should I report my neighbor if?
My neighbor came back from a fishing trip the other day and I noticed he had caught over his limit (I went online and read about limits, etc.) and I also noticed he had caught a large mud turtle (you have to have a special license to catch turtle). Should I contact the authorities about him?

Considering you don't know the whole situation, I don't think it's worth the hassle.
1) How do you know he didn't go fishing with a buddy who has a license to catch the same amount of fish but doesn't want to eat it - the friend just fishes for sport so he gives the fish to the neighbor who will eat them so they don't go to waste? He may have bought some off of other guys at the lake cause he wants to have a big fish fry with some friends.
2) Do you know that he doesn't have the turtle license or that he even caught the turtle? If you hit an animal with your car (in most states) you can legally keep the dead animal without having to have a permit.
Basically, unless the fish and game catch him in the act of catching the turtle or the fish past his limit, they can't really do anything about it. They can't prove he caught even one of those fish or the turtle just because he has them in his posession. Unless posession of the extra fish and the turtle is illegal in your area, he's not breaking any laws right now.
you noticed ehh lol
why are you even asking...wait to justify what you are going to do anyway because youre nosy and dont like him
the only bright side is im glad lol
Find something more rewarding to put you energy into.
Your a boring little small minded person who seriously needs to get a life.
Your a waste of good skin.
Goodness ! have you got nothing better to do ??, what a fishy story !!!!!!
It depends on how long you want to live there.
whats the point you will only cause trouble between you and your neighbour
you could try getting a life instead you nosy bint
If You're Sure He Doesn't Have A License And You Don't Like Him Surre. ^_^
If you don't turn him in - how will? I would call the fish and game department in your area - and at least tell them about the turtle.
Not unless you want a permanent uncomfortable situation with your neighbor.
Why would you want to start something like that with your neighbor? Has he done something to you? Or since this is in the Vegan category are you actually upset that he doesn't follow your chosen dietary regiment?
if you hate your neighbor that much...and he will certainly know who gave him up...
do u have proof???
nice try veggie head.
I would leave it as it is not worth the hassel if he finds out its you
You are within your rights to report him and you would be upholding the law. The downside however is that this could spark a dispute with your neighbor.
yes, what does he want with the turtle. Hes not eating it I hope. What a jerk.
so goon tell us what is the "personal limit" for catching fish or did he catch more than the country's quota?
Maybe the turtle surrendered or was just visiting!
If you feel strongly about the subject, which I would too, then yes report him. I don't think that makes you nosey if you feel strongly about it. If your just snooping around, then maybe you are nosey. However my answer is clear, if you feel strongly about it (which I would), then yes.
Is your life so shallow that you have nothing better to do than spy on your neighbours?
well i am sorry but how do you know he doesn't have that license??????
i'm in canada and we have several different types of licenses i have the conservation one so i have a small limit on mine but my brother has a different one and he is allowed to keep twice the amount that i am...
so before you do anything drastic you should get the facts
who knows he could very well be within his limit
You most certainly should report your neighbour but ONLY if you can, hand on heart, state that you never, ever, put a foot wrong, break even the smallest law and are completely without fault in this and every other aspect of your life.
Put another way "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone".
id report him....we have fishing limits for a reason...look at the east coast...fished themselves out and now theres no fishing allowed cause theres nothing to catch...and the turtle..at least save the turtle...steal it if you have to...and take it to a turtle reseve...
RULES ARE RULES!!
get a life :-)
go for it!! be that responsible citizen that you are.
make that call, send that letter, send that e-mail.
Nobody believes you..!
no don't do that. he's inviting you over for dinner. are you vegetarian?
I would just turn a blind eye. He could maybe make like hard for u if you cause trouble for him. Maybe he has the license you mention and if you have no proof it will be your work against his.
its too late about the fish-and it is possible they were different kinds of fish, or he was givin some from a fishing buddy who didnt want them. If your sure he has done wrong-you can call up the game warden office dont give them your name and ask about the situation. the why of the mud turtle too?
game wardens patrol fishing areas-and give out tickets for going over the limit,
they would need a search warant to go in his home.
are there other issues involved?
prayin for you to be comfortable with your neighbors and to do what is reasonable
and you could share what changes hearts and lives with these neighbors in Jesus amazing grace, that saved a wretch like me=John 3 repented and let Jesus into my heart door to become my best friend, amen
thanks
its not worth the hassle but i have read on here that a fella has caught loads of fish and a mud turtle and wants to invite his cute neighbour over for tea. lol have you had your invite yet?
Get a life, REALLY!!!
