Animal Testing?!
Animal Testing?
I am considering giving up eating pigs & chicken due to cruel farming practices involved. I am also trying to buy cosmetics etc that haven't been tested on animals. I found the peta.org website, but the list of companies that don't test seem to include mainly american products we can't get. I'm just wondering if there is a nz product list, or a nz peta website?
Also if anyone knows of other companies in nz that aren't on that list, let me know.

whoops, yeah I meant New Zealand.... I accessed this page through the nz site, but I guess all countries can see this. & no I'm not adding cows to the list, I like meat & they are treated pretty well in nz. P.S. I eat lamb too & wear leather shoes & kill mice with micetraps - I'm just against prolonged suffering of animals

There are many international companies that do not test on animals.
I would recommend printing out the Peta list and taking it with you to a department store or pharmacy/chemist and chat to one of the informed assistants there.
I live in South Africa and have similar problems.
Once company to steer clear of is Innoxa (based in Australia) as I have found that even though they say their products do not contain any animal by-products I have found out through many e-mails that they do not consider certain animal derived ingredients to be by-products.
If you do not want to buy products tested on animals I would also suggest you think about products that contain animal ingredients.
what is nz?
new zealand? well, if you wouldn't mind blowing off a few extra bucks, i would recommend perhaps getting them shipped to your country? if not, look around for an organic store of some sorts, and request for cosmetis/styling products that do not test. and brava on your choice to steer clear of pigs and chicken..perhaps you'll soon include cows to that list..?
Well, i eat a lot of meat because i am not a vegetarian...... but i always try to avoid pig meat because i am scared of tape snakes. u Know those things in your tummy. even thinking of it is disgusting. Well i don't understand y people avoid meat.
Oh well at least i eat meat. Hope this helps!!
P.S Well i think it is cruel and i try to avid too. i really agree with you!!! at least i am not the only one that thinks its cruel.
You shouldn't eat pork because its mostly Australian, and no you can't get tape worms from well cooked pork products. Try some reputible online stores. If amazon can ship to NZ for stuff all, then online shops with international shipping should be fine.
