There may be vegans that do not drink alcohol, but no alcohol comes from animals.
Wine coolers
Some alcoholic drinks are fined using animal products, including gelatine, blood and isinglass. So yes, alcohol can technically be made from animals.
The production of spirits does not appear to involve the use of animal substances though.
Examples of Vegan beer:

Wine and beer made without isinglass (fish byproduct)
Mixers that do not contain dairy- no bailey's unfortunately
I don't really know what to say about that article other than I am very sorry that those people did not have the proper support...Like I keep saying soy is not really that good for you. The author was not quite right about there not being any vegan cultures as anyone can read in The China Study by Cornell University which examined the health and diets of many vegan villages in China. These villages experienced a cancer rate of 0%, heart disease of 0%, osteporosis 0% and had been vegan for countless generations. Look it up. What say you now?
"many beers, wines and other alcoholic beverages are filtered with animal ingredients such as isinglass (derived from fish) or bone char. While the filtering process only leaves trace animal residues in the final product, the fact that animal products are used at all leaves many beverages off of the vegan drinker's shopping list. To make matters worse, some drinks are simply not vegan by virtue of their ingredients, as cream, eggs, and even whole chickens can be added to a drink to give it a distinctive flavour or property.
The trouble is, this isn't something you'll find on a label."
