Answers:
Mars only recently went back to using animal by-products in its chocolate, previously it used an alternative. All these Cadburys' products are advertised as being suitable for vegetarians:

Bournville Bournville Fruit & Nut

Buttons Creamy-White Buttons

Dairy Milk Dairy Milk Miniatures

Dairy Milk Wildlife Flake

99 Flake Orange Cream

Spira Time Out Twirl

Wispa Wispa Shoe People

Golden Crisp Old Jamaica Tiffin

Mint Crisp Nut Crisp

Raisin and Biscuit

See this web-site for details of other companies suitable products.

my best advice would be to search online for non brand home-made chocolate, instead of the cheap commericial chocolate.

Sorry, don't know I make it a point not to eat anything that didn't have a face!

please say you are wrong!?

Whey is not the lining of stomachs, but it is an animal product. Go to Trader Joe's or Whole Food's Market, they have a pretty good selection of vegan chocolate.

try looking at a whole foods store that sells organic foods, they may have available teh chocolate u may beable to enjoy as a vegan, or tell you where u can find some.

I think that most of the organic Green and Blacks chocolate is suitable for vegetarians, the 70% coco one is suitable for vegans. They don't use unnecessary additives, but they are more expensive than your average choccy bar. Also in the health food part of Asda they do dairy free choc, which is also free of any animal produce, again they are expensive.

Whey is actually the part of the milk which is separted from the curds, so is not strictly speaking actually animal produce but just seperated milk. The problem is that rennet is used to cause the separation process, so therefore the whey is there because of the rennet. Not all rennet is made from animals though, more recently, a microbial alternative (suitable for vegetarians) has been more commonly used in cheese making, but this is by no means across the board.
Take a look at the website below and that may help
Good luck with it all!

whey is a milk product. It's what happens when you separate the solids - curds and whey, just like the nursery rhyme.

You could get carob instead. Not all chocolate is made with whey. Read the labels.

Whey is not the inside linings of animal's stomachs. That's rennet. Whey is a component of milk.
If you're a vegan, you wouldn't eat anything made with whey. If you're not so strict, enjoy...

Stop chocolates. You can do it. Give to the charity your budget for sweets.

Whey is the liquid part of milk-
remember the nursery rhyme:
"'little miss muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey" Curds and whey are cottage cheese.

So if you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian and not a vegan you can do chocolate.

whey is produced using rennet (which is from the cows stomach) so although it just comes from milk, if you hold strong beliefs about your vegetarianism then you need to avoid it.
this has just come to light due to mars starting to put whey in their chocolate so i reckon you should write to thema dn complain for a start!!!
check out http://www.vegsoc.org/ for more info.
or if this gets you going because i think you will find a lot more products you didn't realise were not vegetaraian in teh strictist sense then have a look at http://www.vegansociety.com/html/...

don't eat nasty chocolate like that anyway, plus half of it is all wax. I've been vegetarian/vegan for like 16 years and have never had a problem finding good chocolate. Just look for stuff that is a little higher quality than that stuff and it should be easy to find.

Green and Blacks, I just tried it and it was amazing. If you like dark chocolate stick with those ones.. They are vegan and so tasty. Its funny but I used to hate dark chocolate. Now that I can't have milk chocolate I love it! :)

do u like cadburys?i think there suitable for veggies oooo chocolate lol
and maybe galaxy??
just check the packet before u eat them

i was vegan for the first 9 years of my life then veggie for a further 10 yrs,try carob chocolate its totally vegan no mass manufacturare of chocolate uses ethical methods such as fair trade choc, though cadbury have recently started supporting the fair trade movement in the sense they re starting to pay proper wages.carob choc doesnt taste as nice but if u want to follow ure believes then give it a go,also try the "hedgehg" brand of crisps completely natural
