Is it good to eat seaweed?!

Question:

Is it good to eat seaweed?

Answers:
Seaweed can be a good source of minerals etc since it lives in and filters vast quantities of mineral rich sea water.

Just be careful not to make it a staple of your diet. Those same properties mean that almost all seaweed is also heavily contaminated with all the toxic metals! Inspection and testing of seaweed is virtually non-existent. Do a web search on "seaweed heavy metal" and you'll understand.

They say kelp is a healthy treat.

Just don't smoke it.

Japanese have the longest life expectancies in the world and they eat a lot of seaweed. But not just nori, try other kinds like wakame, hijiki, konbu, tororo konbu etc. They are high in protein, calcium and tons of minerals. Wakame can also be used in salads with regular salad vegetables. Nori is great as a snack, especially Korean flavoured nori. They all a different taste so try and see which ones you like.
