Is there an alternative to animal slaughtering for meat?!

Question:

Is there an alternative to animal slaughtering for meat?

I have been a vegetarian for almost a year because I love animals, and one thing I've always wondered is instead of slaughering all the animals for meat, why can't they just be humanely euthanized? That way, there is no pain, violence, or killing.

Answers:
Even if you euthanize its the taking of an
innocent life. I don't find it morally acceptable
personally. As far as an alternative goes, no
there isn't one but they are working on labor-
atory (vat) grown meat that would come
from tissue samples of animals. If the public
found this an acceptable means of meat
commerce it would be a breakthrough
for our animal friends. I'm crossing my fingers
that it works out. I would never consume the
stuff but I'd love to see omnivores switch
to genetically generated meat. If they could
guarantee that the stuff is disease free, hormone
free, and non-carcinogenic the public might jump
on it.

Well, I prefer to eat them while still alive.

b/c then we'd be ingesting the buethanasia drug and we would be poisened as well.... When you eat the animal you already are ingesting whatever they have....antibiodics....steriod... etc. Stay a vegan and eat Tofu!!! I love tofu!! Also...if they did that..........they'd loose so much of their precious money! Ugh...they make me sick

Just Remember.........................
Vegetables aren,t food
Food EATS vegetables

It would probably be much more costly & that is why the large meat packing / processing corporations just don't do it.

That is THE answer,,, always comes down to profit & keeping shareholders happy.

If others tell you it's about injecting poison into them & that leading to humans, that is not the answer, they're already doing that & don't seem to care that they're passing it along to humans.

rent the movie The Corporation , then come back here & ask milk & meat questions, you WILL have a new perspective on things.

I guess I don't see the point, I don't let my emotions control me, Humans where designed to eat a wide variety of foods, meats, grains, vegetables, fruits. the reason is you need them all to be at you optimum. moderation on all food groups is important. And eating meat is not inhuman, because animals are not human. the Animals are slaughtered so quick, they really don't even realize it. You can be a vegetarian for your reasons, and I can choose not be for mine, neither is wrong, you got to do what is right for you, as long as it does not infringe on others dietary choices. I think it's horrible to eat Vegetables, they can't even try and run away!

Being a hunter My bow and arrow work quickly and humanely the deer simply fall to sleep and don't wake up. Just because you love animals doesn't mean you can't meat that would be like saying you hate Global Warming so your not going to exhale for fear of CO2 gasses leaving your body.

The euthanization injection is a poison and does not come out through the killing or cooking process, it is injected through the bloodstream and goes to the heart.
The one animal that I can tell you that is humanely slaughtered in most cases is cattle. When a cow is stressed and slaughtered inhumanely the meat has dark spots in it and b/c the consumer does not like their meat with dark spots the slaughter plants have had to kill the cows while they are not stressed. Some times they are not slaughtered humanely and that part is upsetting. I eat some meat and the meat that I eat is organic and the cattle are transported and slaughtered in the most non-stressful and humane way possible. I am glad that this nation is waking up and realizing what they are eating and where it is coming from. I do think that organic is the smarter route to take and it also is slowly bringing back the smaller family farms which is a huge plus.

Ew. Most of them would still be raised in horrible conditions, so it doesn't really solve your problem. Cause chickens kept in tiny cages would still be in pain. Cows who resisted going to the euthanization chamber would be still be violently forced. And in the end, they'd all still be killed.

On a side note, my initial reasons for becoming a vegetarian 10 years ago were not really for a love of animals. I don't actually love them or even enjoy the company of most of them. My veganism is more ethical, not emotional. Personally, I find it extremely disrespectful to eat the remains of a once living being. Don't you?

Look, the cattle, chicken, pig, whatever, was put on this earth so that humans could consume them. That is how this thing was set up a long time ago.

When you move the large number of animals north, that are going to slaughterhouses to be slaughtered and hung to make nice little pieces of steak, you have to have a way that will allow you to kill numerous animals in a short amount of time, will little suffering to the anima. The United States Department of Agriculture is continuously on site in these slaughter house, to ensure humane death, and that the meat is handled in a safe hygienic way, to preclude contamination.

Cloning is probably the only way meat will ever be availible from an unslaughtered animal. And that is if the cloning procedures evolve to the point that specific parts of animals can be grown and not actually be from a completly grown, live clone. I think it will eventually be possible.
