Does milk hurt animals especially dogs?
Answers:
yes i have always heard that as well.....i do know that a little bit of warm milk will not bother them...but if u give them a lot it will give them gas....very bad stinky gas....and i dont believe u want that....
I have been told by the vet that adult dogs can't digest milk. I have had dogs on a dairy farm for years, and never had a problem with any dog drinking milk. It was raw milk also.
Many animals (including humans) have problems with the lactose in milk. It can give people and pets really bad stomach problems, so avoid avoid avoid!
Some companies sell pet-friendly alternatives.
That said, cow's milk should only really be fed to one animal- baby cows.
It probably depends on the milk. Does it have hormones in it or Is the milk natural. When I drink certain types of milk I get choked up with flim. Some milk is free from hormones or additives, Some is not.
Dogs and cats are not supposed to drink cow's milk. It's not good for them.
Milk is bad for dogs and cats (and most animals)... especially young ones. It can cause diarrhea, which can then cause severe dehydration in young pups & kittens.
Since puppy & kitten formulas are available... I'd go with that. Even walmart, etc. usually sells one variation of it or another. The good stuff is available at any pet store, but it can be fairly expensive.
The milk an animal produces is meant to feed its young until they are old enough to eat other things.
That is all.
When one animal tries to eat another animal's milk problems can develop the most obvious being allergic responses from injesting foreign proteins.
Like people, dogs can have allergies and/or lactose intolerance making it difficult for them to digest cow's milk.
Cow's milk is for cows. :)
