Did PETA lie?!

Question:

Did PETA lie?

My health teacher said that last year PETA got caught lying. He said they made up some story about animal cruelty which was false. I've now read some more questions on PETA and I'm really upset.I really trusted PETA. Does PETA lie?
Also is there any other similar organisations that do not do things like this if it is true about PETA?

Answers:
Join the humane society! Thay drive ranchers nuts because they get laws passed to make them take better care of their animals and make all the rest of the industry mad because of the laws they get passed.

PETA just wants your money!!!!!!!!!

Yes

i dont think peta lies. i hear that all the time from people who dont give a crap about animals. i love peta and what they do

People frequently try to discredit organizations like PETA. Also, everyone gets it wrong sometimes, it's possible to tell a lie but think it's the truth. 'Course, people also lie a lot, so it could be any of the above.

Whatever your beliefs about animal rights, please understand that PETA is a terrorist group

PETA is the most morally corrupt organisation. They live by the motto or the end justifies the means. Ask Pink, she got caught up with them, had to make a full retraction. On every issue they twist the truth or simply lie.

I think the better question you should ask yourself is; What fringe group with an agenda doesn't lie?

If you can find one, let the world know.

The truth about PETA. Not for children.

I'm not really sure. I recieve emails from them and always sign their petitions and I also make a donation as much as possible. I also trust them. And I really think that it would be unfair for them to lie to people. I dont have much money but I dont think I would sink that low just to get some. Making up false stories just to get money, how low is that??

Well, I don't know if PETA has lied about specific things. For the most part, the general types of accusations PETA puts forth about the animal agriculture industry are valid and have been researched and prven again and again and again. I refer you the work of professors like Stephen Best and Gary Francione.

As a vegan and an animal rights activist, my opinion is that PETA's basic philosophical underpinnings are detrimental to animals' interests and will not result in the abolition of animal use and abuse. They are far more interested in creating and winning small battles that keep the money rolling in, while doing little to affect the commodity status of animals.

if you are interested in the plight of animals, the single best thing you can do is to go vegan. Don't give money to large corporations. Don't fight individual corporations or practices. GO VEGAN. Then work to encourage others to do the same. This will result in the biggest net reduction of suffering while advancing the idea that animals are not property to be used by people.

PETA is a muli million pound organization that gets donates from the public.

It has hidden the fact that it kills unwanted dogs and cats from shelters, sometimes even off the street.
It has been fined at least once for misleading ads.
And if like the ALF it will do anything in its power to stop people having, owning or using animals. In this case lying is a justifiable action.

PETA always lies.
