Organic food whats the deal?!

Question:

Organic food whats the deal?

Why are people so freeken dumb, are they not aware it’s not only more expensive, but also the cause of all the recent salmonella poisonings. Personally I prefer pesticides for growing my vegetables and fruits, to one grown with animal carp

Answers:
LOL -- you sound like me talking w/ my Mom
she buys all that organic food & she gets sick more then I do

who says you can't wash off the food you
buy before you eat it anyway ? !

ok Mr Science

y u prefer hazardous chems over wat nature intended 4 growing? yeah, its gonna b more expnsive, but u dunno wat chems they put on nonorganics

I prefer inorganic food. ;)

bi organic milk the other milk has puss in it

Have you seen a three legged frog? Have you seen the increase in children's allergy's and illnesses? Have you even tasted the difference of organic foods?
I prefer to give my child the best chance possible in life. I know how vulnerable a young person is to all the toxins in our society today and not just in foods.
Man hasn't even begun to realize how much harm has been done in an effort to increase production for profit. Many who do know the harm choose to hide or ignore it for profit too. It pays health wise, to educate yourself to all aspects of your environment.

and you call us dumb? I grow organic veggies, without pesticides and without animal poop, and I see nothing dumb about it.. Think about the word pestiCIDE-it means to die, just like in suiCIDE, homiCIDE, funguCIDE. Why do I want to consume something that is designed to kill something else? Knock yourself out, sport, but dont think I am dumb because I choose not to kill off my blood cells. By the way, the cause of the salmonella poisoning was from animal waste runoff, not the fact that it was organic stuff.

Organic food doesn't have to be more expensive. It's just cause it's so trendy right now that it is. If you shop at your local food co-op, it'd about the same price, if not cheaper than the non organic (I disagree with the term "conventionally grown"--there is nothing conventional about something only set up in the last 50 years or so) produce in a supermarket. Even so, I'm willing to pay more since it's better for the environment and our health.

FYI: Organic produce has nothing to do with the salmonella poisonings. That was due to animal waste--from the animal food industry.

your first sentence makes me not want to give you answer...

BUT because i'm so nice, i'll give you one anyway... organic food means it has not been grown with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and the 70,000 other known toxic chemicals that are normally sprayed on conventional foods. did you know that out of those 70,000 chemicals, under 7% of it has been tested for adverse effects? if you were given an 8 oz. cup of pesticide spray, would you drink it? why do you eat it on your fruit and vegetables then?

ever wonder why cancer and other debilitating diseases are on the rise, even though we fund these heart and cancer organizations millions and millions of dollars? it's because of all the junk they put in our food. if everyone strictly ate organic foods, then you would see a decline in people developing diseases.

see, cancer cannot thrive in an oxygen-rich body. if your body has too many toxins in it, then it cannot function optimally... this is when you develop cysts, tumors, cancer... this is when your vital organs start malfunctioning. then you see the doctor, only to be prescribed with a medication that will eff up your body even more.

because the foods grown have this unnatural defense against insects and other animals, it does take a bit more effort to grow produce, grains, etc. under these conditions... therefore increasing the price you pay at the checkout. however, this is not always true. for example, conventional strawberries sell for $2.49. organic strawberries sell for $2.69. twenty cents is not that much when you take your health into account.

best wishes.

Interesting. Typically when they do food recalls, it is rarely the organic foods that get recalled.

And those pesticides and herbicides are poisons. Farmers that handle those chemicals have to have special certifications and permits to handle them as they are TOXIC. Salmonella and ecoli strains aren't something unique to organic foods.

And, frankly, since I have been eating more organic and sustainable foods lately, many of my maladies have cleared up -- my allergies have reduced, my asthma is MUCH better under control, my frequent headaches have greatly lessened, etc.

It's a grave mistake to think that ingesting these toxins and poisons on a regular basis will have little or no effect on your body. There are toxins and chemicals all around us. That's pretty much the kind of world we live in. (Just the chemicals in your couch alone are mind boggling.) However, the food we ingest is directly responsible for the way your body functions and processes the toxins. Might as well give it the best chance you can.

And, by the way, many of the bacteria such ecoli are already present in your digestive tract. It's these new super strains that have become resistant to the hormones that have been fed to livestock over the past several decades that are making people sick.
