Is fried fish vegetarian?!
Is fried fish vegetarian?
if a vegetarian eats fish. could he/she eat fried fish? can a vegetarian eat fried foods? Should a vegetarian eat food that was made with chickien grease? What about grease that other meat was cooked in?
Answers:
Well if a vegetarian eats fish then they are not a vegetarian - they are a pescitarian... and if they eat fish, then I don't see why they can't eat fried fish.
As for the other about grease of other animals - I would say no as it is the by product of the dead animal. Vegetarians for example don't cook in lard or bacon grease.
As for using grease that has had other animals in it - such as going to a restaurant that serves chicken wings or fried chicken and ordering fries... well this would have to be up to the individual. I honestly think that some vegetarians don't think about it - they eat the fries and don't put 2 and 2 together -
personally I don't.
It depends how you define vegetarian. I have been a vegetarian for 15 years. I ate fried fish, I tried not to think about the grease that went into it. The only way to really stay away from animal products is vegan. You do what is comfortable.
For the record, if you eat fish, then you are not a true vegetarian.
But to answer your question, yes, a vegetarian can definitely eat fried foods as long as they are fried in vegetable/plant oils and not lard or animal fat.
As for using the same oil that meat was cooked in, this would not be a problem for a vegetarian, but it would be a major problem for a vegan.
Vegetarians do not eat fish. It depends on your diet.
Definition: When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (“lacto” comes from the Latin for milk, and “ovo” for egg). This is the most common type of vegetarian in North America.
Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products. Many Hindu vegetarians are lacto-vegetarians who avoid eggs for religious reasons while continuing to eat dairy.
Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs. Some people are ovo-vegetarians because they are lactose-intolerant.
If a vegetarian eats fish, then it is likely they will eat fried fish. A vegetarian can eat fried food providing that the oil is not tainted with animal residue. A strict vegetarian should not eat food made with chicken fat, or any other meat product.
e true Vegetarian does not eat fish. But they can eat fired foods as long as they are prepared in non-animal oils
If you eat fish then you are probably not a vegetarian.
>>>if a vegetarian eats fish. could he/she eat fried fish? >>>
No. Vegetarians dont eat animals. Fish is an animal.
>>>can a vegetarian eat fried foods?>>>
If you're talking about food that is NOT meat, (like potato) fried in vegetable oil, then yes.
>>>Should a vegetarian eat food that was made with chickien grease? >>>
No, chicken grease comes from a dead chicken. Chicken is an animal. Vegetarians dont eat animals.
>>>What about grease that other meat was cooked in?>>>
No, grease from an animal is still part of an animal. Vegetarians dont eat animal grease, meat, bones, skin or any other part that comes from a dead animal. Even if it's brushed on, wrapped around or stuffed in a vegetable.
no... stupid. fish = meat??
Vegetarians can eat anything they want... they choose not to eat meat...meat includes fish(and birds). So to answer your question...
1)No, If a vegetarian ate fish(fried or not)... they are not a real vegetarian. Fish-eaters are called Piscivores. Anyone that tells you any different is mistaken.
2) Yes vegetarians "can" eat fried foods, as long as they are fried in vegetable oil.
3) No a vegetarian should not eat food's fried in chicken grease... It's meat grease...
4) same as above... no, meat grease is not vegetarian.
Hope that cleared it up for you.
Fish isnt veg, neither is anything in animal grease. However french fries, onion rings etc are fine.
a fish is a living thing with a nervous system and can therefor feel pain. if someone is responsible for murdering a fish and consuming it, then they are NOT vegetarian, even if they dump its carcass in a vat of grease.
