Vegetarian survey?!
Vegetarian survey?
What is the mentality of you vegetarians out there? Why is vegetarianism so popular, and please tell me why it's so evil to eat animals. We are in the food chain too! We have to eat meat! Its our nature! Also, why do a lot of you preach to others so much and try to convert them to vegetarians when theyare at steak houses and all. And if we stopped milking cows for our milk products, wouldn't all of the cows )ALL) DIE!?!?!?! Which you don't want?
Answers:
Hah, thats hilarious, if a female human didnt breast feed her baby would she die?
EDIT***** In response to your ridiculous email you sent me :
Your email :From: Ordero
Subject: Answer
Message: Well, cow's milk is better for all ages of a human while human milk is harder to produce, way way harder, and only really suitable for developing children. Would YOU want to be like a cow? Being milked every day? The cows are stupid so they really don't care once they're used to it...

My response:
I know you are trying desperately to sound smart, or stump someone somewhere, but that isn't going to happen unless you do your research. Even meaters can see the ridiculousness in your statement.
Cows Suffer on Dairy Farms
Cows produce milk for the same reason that humans do―to nourish their young―but calves on dairy farms are taken away from their mothers when they are just 1 day old. They are fed milk replacers (including cattle blood) so that their mothers’ milk can be sold to humans.(1,2)
Female cows are artificially inseminated shortly after their first birthdays.(3) After giving birth, they lactate for 10 months and are then inseminated again, continuing the cycle. Some spend their entire lives standing on concrete floors; others are confined to massive, crowded lots, where they are forced to live amid their own waste. Cows have a natural lifespan of about 25 years and can produce milk for eight or nine years. However, the stress caused by the conditions in animal factories leads to disease, lameness, and reproductive problems that render cows worthless to the dairy-products industry by the time that they’re 4 or 5 years old, at which time they are sent to be slaughtered.(4,5)
On any given day, there are more than 8 million cows on U.S. dairy farms―about 14 million fewer than there were in 1950. Yet milk production has continued to increase, from 116 billion pounds of milk per year in 1950 to 170 billion pounds in 2004.(6,7) Normally, these animals would produce only enough milk to meet the needs of their calves (around 16 pounds per day), but genetic manipulation, antibiotics, and hormones are used to force each cow to produce more than 18,000 pounds of milk each year (an average of 50 pounds per day).(8,9) Cows are also fed unnatural, high-protein diets―which include dead chickens, pigs, and other animals―because their natural diet of grass would not provide the nutrients that they need to produce such massive amounts of milk.(10)
Cows are dumb? I dont expect you will be bothered to educate yourself by reading this but I suggest you do. If you are going on the theory that dumb creatures must die for being dumb, than that would put you where?????
Cows are intelligent and curious animals who enjoy solving problems and interacting with their environment. They have long memories and are capable of learning lessons from each other, just as humans do.
Brainy Bovines
Cows like challenges, and according to researchers, they feel excitement when they finish a task or use their intellect to overcome an obstacle. In an article on cow intelligence, a reporter writes that “Donald Broom, professor of animal welfare at Cambridge University, will tell the conference how cows can become excited by solving intellectual challenges. In one study, researchers challenged the animals with a task where they had to find how to open a door to get some food. An electroencephalograph was used to measure their brainwaves. ‘The brainwaves showed their excitement; their heartbeat went up and some even jumped into the air. We called it their Eureka moment,’ Professor Broom said.”4
Research has shown that cows clearly understand cause-and-effect relationships―a sure-fire sign of advanced cognitive abilities. For example, cows can learn how to push a lever to operate a drinking fountain when they’re thirsty or to press a button with their heads to release grain when they’re hungry.5,6 Like humans and other animals, cows also quickly learn to stay away from things that cause them pain, like electric fences and unkind humans.
We do not have to eat meat. I haven't eaten meat since 1992 and I am still alive.
It doesn't matter to me why other people don't eat meat. The important thing to me is that they don't. I personally don't want any sentinent creature to die so I can satisfy my desire to eat something pleasureable.
Like most people I was conditioned by society to eat meat. It doesn't have to be that way.
Why would a cow die because we stopped forcefully stealing her milk which should be given to her calf naturally through suckling? I've never met a human woman die after her child weaned!
All energy on our planet comes to us from the sun. Plants are the most prevalent lifeform and one of the only on our Earth that can absorb and allow further transportation to so called higher forms of life here. They are also responsible for production of a lot of the vitamins we need. With that in mind, without plant life on our planet, we would all perish very soon after..because there would be no organism capable of bringing energy into our world or producing nutrients. Doesn't this make a strong point that plant life and the fruits they produce are tailored for us to eat as food and nothing else?
Cows are just like you...they feed on plants to obtain their nutrients. When you eat a cow's flesh..your getting a crude form of energy and a whole lot of extra things like the cholesterol that kept that cow healthy while it was alive, along with saturated fats...(unlike the healthy fats you find in unprocessed non-animal plant products typically) which also should be mentioned is the leading cause of our ailments and medical conditions. Heart disease and colon diseases are the leading cause of death in America.
We are not in the food chain. There are no animals that regurally feed on us. We are not on the 'top' of a food chain..or a ladder..or anything. We are not in any wild setting. We live in societies in controlled enviroments for the most part. It's not our nature sir...you're body has no natural means to hunt food and only 2 pairs of your teeth are remotely sharp.. the rest are flat and meant for chewing plant product. Without the use of a tool you'd have little chance to surviving on an all meat diet in the wild, in this so called "food chain." Your stomach has gigantic long intestines meant for breaking down plants, fruits and nuts - when you eat flesh it can sit in your stomach for days rotting away, causing over time colon cancer.
If you can't sympathize with why its 'evil' to eat animals then you don't deserve an answer because your probably too naive at the current time to have it do you any good.
"why do a lot of you preach to others so much and try to convert them to vegetarians when theyare at steak houses and all."
I don't go into steak houses..and all. Why do you say preach? You should feel priviledged and grateful that anyone spent the time attempting to show you the pro's to a vegetarian or vegan diet. Judging from your post above I doubt I'd have exhausted that much time on you.
Why the !@#$ would cows die if you don't milk them? I'm not sure this is a question I can even take serious.
I was a veggie for over 5 years and I NEVER preached to anyone. I hated when meat eaters did it to me, so I didn't do it to them. I always HATED, and still do hate it when vegetarians and vegans preach and try to shove their ideas and beliefs down everyone's throats. I think it's extremely hypocritical of them. I still don't eat much meat, but I've gotten over my dislike for the tast of some meats, like tuna and ham.
It's evil because it requires killing an animal,an act which goes against moral feeling, would you eat a dog?Humans are so far from the natural food chain, you won't see a lion factory farming other animals and loading them up with hormones and antibiotics. It's not our nature to eat meat,it could also be considered it's part of our nature to kill eachother, but we refrain from doing that because it isn't right and we know that.I don't preach to meat eaters,I only defend my choices, the whole time in my life I ate meat I never had avegetraian tell me to stop eating meat, now that I'm vegan side I get so much sh!t from my family and friends. No,the cows wouldn't die if we stopped milking them,if they became endangered then wildlife preservationists would keep their population alive.
>>>And if we stopped milking cows for our milk products, wouldn't all of the cows )ALL) DIE!?!?!?! Which you don't want?<<<
LOL!
So cows produce milk for humans and not their own babies? Your definition of what's natural is twisted. I wonder whats your take on human mothers and their milk. You omnivores crack me up.
1. cows wouldnt need to be milked by us if we didn't feed them hormones ect. that make them produce more milk than natural (they really only need enough for their calf who is designed to drink their milk) im a vegan so i suppose im a vegetarian too, eh? 2. we arent meant to eat meat. if we were we could eat it raw like every other meat eater out in nature does. 3. it IS wrong. we need to stop playing god and deciding what animals should die for our enjoyment and which animals shouldnt. 4. we dont mean to preach but there are so many people who are oblivious to the horrors of how factory animals are treated and just the facts such as not needing animal products to survive that we can't help wanting to spread the truth. you can agree or disagree with everything i just said, but that doesn't make it go away.
You accuse us of preaching yet you are the one in here doing it. You are speaking nonsense. Humans do not need meat to be healthy or to survive. Cows would not die if not milked. They only produce milk for their young.
If we are meant to eat alot of meat, we would have very obvious and big canines like the lions' and bears'. We don't. Our canines are very tiny with just a very slight tip. A human mouth mostly has molars and incisors, to chew vegetables.
If you choose to eat meat, that's your choice. For a person who consumes too much meat (e.g. bacon strips for breakfast, steak for lunch, hamburger for dinner) you will surely develop cancer, heart problems and other health problems. Too much meat is not the natural diet for a human. For an average human, meat should just take up 5-10% of your diet. One should mostly eat carbohydrate food like bread, pasta, rice. Then followed by vegetables and fruits.
Many people choose to eat lots of meat because they are not aware of the natural human diet and how harmful it can be if you overeat meat. Others choose to be vegetarians based on personal preference, awarness of health benefits or ethical reasons.
1. We're not in the food chain. We're not natural
predators. We manipulate the elements in nature
in order to make tools and machinery so that we
won't have to face mammals in hand to hand
combat that are superior in strenghth, speed,
and physical prowess. What we do is cowardly.
That's why so many of us find it morally
objectionable.
2. Ever seen the Matrix? Remember when Morpheus
told Neo about the machines breeding humans into
invetro- batteries so that they can feed off them and
get the energy they needed to survive? Does this sound
anything like factory farming to you? Only we don't need
muscle from animals to survive.
3. Cows existed and thrived long before some human
got the notion of milking them.
4. I don't preach, some do, some don't.
5. We don't have stomach acids that kill the
bacterium in raw meat the way natural predators and
carnivores do. You can survive on raw meat only
so long without developing ulcers.
Meat stays in your intestinal tract and colon for
anywhere between 3 and five days depending
on what type you ate. Sound natural?
6. Why is vegetarianism so popular? People recog-
nize that fad diets just aren't working and the traditional
food pyramid diet is just too hard to get right for most.
Most doctors will alot you 2 ounces of white meat
a day and no more. People don't seem to be able to
stick to that. However you can eat 3 to 4 servings of
beans, 3 or 4 servings of nuts, 3 or 4 servings of grains
5 servings of fruit and all the vegetables you want.
For many, the light bulb has clicked. Why consume
something that is unwarranted and less beneficial
than its plant-based alternatives?
well... What would you say if every single persom in the world ate meat? soon enough people are gonna start running out! and we need vegetarians to help balance it out... even if only eat certain meat ur still helping!
yes, you are right, us and animals are a cycle in the food chain, but there is something you are probably unnaware of: the cruelty these animals go through. if animals were killed painlessly(ex. put to sleep) then i would eat meat, but they are not. most of them go through painful procedures to get killed. for example, most chickens are broiled alive. cows and pigs are sometimes hung upside down when their head is chopped off so their blood comes out. that is cruel. admit it, it is.
