Would you say killing an animal for food is murder?!

Question:

Would you say killing an animal for food is murder?

Answers:
Hmm "eating animals is fine but eating a cat or dog would be wrong"

What complete sh*te, no offence to the poster of this bizarre comment.

People try and justify a meat eating diet by saying "man rules the earth and everything is here for us to eat" and "we were 'made' to eat meat" yet everything humanity says and does suggests differently. Do humans salivate whilst looking at a canary, wanting to sink their teeth in and rip out the canaries guts? Does a cat? Yes. Do humans cringe at the sight of blood? Yes. Most people wont even look at a slaughter house video, yet a cat or dog would go crazy at the sight and smell of blood!

I don't believe that humans have the bodies, digestive systems or the natural hunting instincts to be meat eaters (guns and knives aren't natural tools- giant canines, claws and amazing speed are). That's my opinion.

You either love the smell and taste of raw flesh and blood.... or you don't. You either have the ability to hunt down a wild animal and kill it with your bare hands... or you don't.

When's the last time you saw a wild animal, such as lynx, tracking down and killing a rabbit.... and then cuddling up with his best mate, a chicken?

So anyway, is killing an animal murder? I consider killing a healthy creature against its will (whether human or animal) murder, yes. The animal doesn't want to die. Factory farmed animals are born into misery, treated cruelly, then slaughtered.

All healthy living things want to live.

A paedophile somewhere considers children are there for him to abuse at his pleasure. There are violent men and women who think nothing of beating their fellow man. There are rapists who see women as there for them to rape. These people are all presuming that other people are THERE for THEIR USE. Do any of the victims want this to happen to them? No. Well neither do animals.

No, God put the animals here on earth for man's use. I think eating animals are fine. But I wouldn't want to eat my cat or dog. that would be upsetting and just wrong.

no..g-d put animals on the earth for a reason.,.

Jesus helped his friends when they were fishing..........so, NO!

Nope.We need it to survive.

no, i like eating meat of almost any tyoe, so if i want a hamburger, a cow's got to die, i also hunt and eat what i kill

No, as long as its not an in dangered animal, then no. Cows, sheep pigs are only bred for human consumption therefore if we didn't eat them they would have to be culled on a regular basis and that would be murder............. killing for no reason.

how many more times are we going to have this stupid question?
the answer to your question is no I don't,murder is defined as human on human. geddit?

Murder is an intentional, unlawful killing of another human being, so killing a non-human animal would by definition, not be murder.
I'm still not going to kill or harm an animal for food though, regardless of what it's called.

Would you say pulling a spud out of the ground, slicing its skin of without anaesthetic then plunging it into boiling water a form of murder.........After all a potatoe is a living thing!!!!!
If they found one growing on mars they would have said they had found a form of life.............Think about it.

No you have to kill so you can survive

Webster defines murder as "the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought"

So killing of animals per se is not "murder". but it is still killing, out of greed, because God gave man enough food in form of plants, yet there are people that wants to eat animals. So legally, no wrong. But morally, ethically and environmentally, it is.

Being omnivores, human beings have the OPTION of eating meat.

With all the nutritional information out there nowadays, there's just no excuse to rear and kill animals for food anymore. It's just plain cruel and selfish.

It beggars belief how someone can love a pet such as a dog and cat but then go around and eat a burger. That cow deserved to live just as much as any other creature.

no

yeah

No, "murder" is killing a person - check the dictionary.

Killing an animal for food is just unnecessary, cruel. self-important and selfish, its not murder.

"No you have to kill so you can survive " -what bollocks ( excuse my language but i can't think of a better word that describes that arguement )

yes, that's why i don't eat meat because that would be supporting people who do.
maybe if you were stuck in the wilderness with nothing else to eat i could understand. even then, i personally couldn't kill anything, but i could understand the need to.

I wouldn't say killing an animal is murder.

Since the dawn of time animals have killed other animals for food....I know I'll pry catch some flack for this one but that is my opinion.

I feel humans are animals to we have just evolved some over the years. I do think some slaughterhouses treat the animals inhumanely and should be punished for their crimes.

I don't agree that we were not made to eat me I feel it is a personal coice not to do so and I don't think people should be mocked because they choose to not eat eat or animal products....and I do not think the vegan and vegetarian community should mock us meat heads either...

on another note Midsojo using pedaphiles to prove his point is COMPLETELY ridiculous...you should be ashamed of yourself making such a ludicrous comparison tsk,tsk

YES

If god didn't want me to eat his animals why did he make them so tasty!

mmmmmm

Yes.

I think that the killing isn't the problem as such - a lot of killing happens in nature for survival. It's the amount we kill and the extreme cruelty the animals go through.

Yes, I don't eat animals or anything that came from an animal. Watch 'meet your meat' on you tube.

Nope. Killing an animal just to kill it still isn't murder. It's unnecessary, but not murder.

Murder is the killing of a human being.

Well legally murder is the intentional and unjustifiable killing of a human. Therefore legally killing an animal for food isn't murder.

Morally I'd say it was though as it is so unnecessary due to the fact that we can eat a perfectly healthy diet using plants only.

YES YES YES AND DOUBLE YES
animals are living feeling things its murder and the people who do it should die they suck bananas
people who say no god put them on earth for us to eat well dudes ur dumb no he flipping didn't god made Adam and eve ect then he gave us the choice like heaven or hell as usual humans r seriously thick so we chose to eat them ooo what a suprise if u cant not eat animals for the lives of poor living creatures then do it the selfish way without animals there would be no us!there are other things to eat uno

That`s a good question!!! i`m not sure, because I`ve never killed my food and then eaten it.

Have you heard The Smiths song "Meat is murder" ?

Murder is really killing something against it's will so really it's the same for animals, isn't it?

..because it is. we have no right to walk around playing god, deciding which animals should die for our enjoyment and which shouldnt. we don't need animals to die for us to survive, its just unnecessary.

Yes animals are put on this planet to live but people are used to thinking its normal but its not people dont see animals have feelings and can feel just like humans. How can u think shooting an animal and chopping its head off and taking its guts out and all yellow and blood coming out and chopping it to pieces and selling the meat for a measly few quid normal when the animal can live a life
