Is it true that beans are fattening?!

Question:

Is it true that beans are fattening?

Answers:
That is definitely not true. By themselves they have a pretty insignificant amount of fat. It all has to do with what the beans are cooked with. For example, refried beans can be loaded with fat while black bean & corn relish has minimal fat. Beans are a great part of a healthy diet!

They are if you eat too many

In general, they are very healthy for you - but stick to reasonable portion sizes.

Beans do contain fat, but they are the good sort of fats. Animal fats are what's really bad for you. Portion size is also important, as well as what the bean is cooked or eaten with. Make the bean your primary source of fat in that particular recipe.

Not by themselves, it is what you have with them.

"Beans, beans the musical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot the better you feel, so lets eat beans at every meal!" Notice that it says nothing about them being fattening, just..."musical"

they are really good for you but SUPER fattening
