Can vegetarians eat dairy products?!
Can vegetarians eat dairy products?
i wanna be a total vegetarian. but i need to know what they eat! do total vegetarians eat or drink dairy products? like can you drink milk!
Answers:
There are about five different types of vegetarians:
>Lacto-Vegetarian: one who consumes milk and dairy
>Ovo-Vegetarian: one who eats eggs
>Lacto/Ovo-Vegetarian: one who consumes both dairy and eggs
>Pescitarian: one who refrains from eating any type of meat except fish
>Vegan: one who refrains from all forms of meat, animal by-products, and abstains from wearing clothes that are made from animals
The definitions associated with the above mentioned types of vegetarianism is not all inclusive; but it can give you a rather simplified explanation of each type.

Am a veg-head myself
yeah. vegitarian is just not eating meat.
if you dont want to eat dairy products, then you would become vegan.
good luck!
if you are a vegetarian you can eat anything except animals/meat. if you choose be a vegetarian you can drink milk.
if you are a vegan you dont eat any animal products such as eggs and dairy.
This is an interesting question -
I found this on wikipedia: There is a good bit of info there on this topic- Some vegetarians also avoid using products that come from animals (like leather )-
Foods allowed in the main vegetarian diets
Diet Name : Meat (includes fish) / Eggs/ Dairy / Honey
Lacto-ovo veg : No / Yes / Yes / Yes
Lacto vegetarianism :No / No / Yes / Yes
Ovo vegetarianism : No / Yes / No / Yes
Veganism : No / No / No / No
So I guess it depends on what type of vegetarian you want to be. I would imagine that a "total" vegetarian would be a vegan- Thus, no dairy.
Hope this helps! Good health!
vegetarians drink milk and eat eggs and honey. they dont eat any meat, fish....
Don't you ever read the vegetarian section before? That questions been asked so many times.. Vegetarians can eat dairy products cause no animal is killed because of dairy products. Vegetarians just don't eat animals.. they can eat any other food!
Vegetarians do not eat the flesh of any living creatures. So, yes, you can consume dairy products.
strict vegetarians (also known as vegans) eat no animal products or byproducts. so no, if you want to be a vegan you cannot have milk. but there are some awesome alternatives. i personally swear by almond breeze which is almond milk. mm the chocolate tastes just like conventional chocolate milk. :)
Vegetarians can eat what ever they'd like to. There are no laws saying what they can and can not eat. If you eat meat, you won't get kicked out of the vegetarian club. Why do you want to be a total vegetarian? Not that there is any thing wrong with it. I even married one. Don't just do it to be one. Eat what will make you happy, both your mind and body. If you don't want to eat animals, then don't. If you think it's cruel to have cows forced to give their milk, then don't drink milk or eat cheese. You can always drink soy milk if you choose. Just eat what you think you should eat.
