Organic dog food?!

Question:

Organic dog food?

I've recently made the descision to be a vegetarian, and I only buy eggs and dairy that come from animals that are not given hormones, and are free range. Now I know that my dog can not be a vegetarian, but I would like to find a dog food that does not does not do any additional harm to animals. (ie bad living conditions and hormones). I know that alot of dog food companies like Iams does laboratory testing on dogs and cats!!! I would like to find a healthy dog food that won't compromise my ethics.

Answers:
try wellness. human grade, no by-products, organic dog food.

http://www.omhpet.com/wellness/...

and it hasnt been affected by any of the recent pet food recalls

Good luck with that.

Know that dog and cat food labeled organic are only required to have 70% organic ingredients.

Do you buy eggs and dairy from local people or are you buying industrialized agriculture that is fakely labeled?

Compromise your ethics? Give me a break.

Hi.. Yes your dog can absolutely be raised on a vegetarian diet as mine are (actually they are vegan like me) dogs are omnivores in the wild but with today's choices they will get all their nutritional needs being veggie ..as a matter of fact the oldest living dog, Bramble in England is a veggie (28 years old) ....... as his owner is (loosely speaking ..as I never know who owns who if anyone does) .. I had a German shepherd who lived to 19 and 1 month ...I currently have an older Chihuahua and a mid aged Pit bull ...both I expect to have long healthy happy lives.. I do feed them veggie dry food which your local pet food store can assist you fully with what you are asking .. and you can shop on line ..at ... http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:nbq... .... this site has a lot of info as well as lists many foods you can buy a pet food stores that are humane ......... there are other sites you can google ...In addition I also feed my dogs everything I eat except chocolate, onions, and almonds worry me too (since they are deadly to wolves) my dogs adore pastas , veggie of all types , chinese ..you name it .. the little one Loves canteloupe .. so I want to say I applaud not only your decision to go vegetarian , but your decision to have your dog also as healthy ...you can both live in comfort with your decisions .. good luck
