What is used to wash 'pre-washed' salads?!

Question:

What is used to wash 'pre-washed' salads?

I'm pretty sure it's not water.

Answers:
You mean that stuff that comes ready-bagged?

It's put into a large vat of hot, chlorinated water, kind of like a giant washing machine. This makes the leaves clean but completely stripped of nutrients and VERY wilted.

They then spray the leaves with food wax to artificially restore the crunch.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwww I am thinking of getting the lettuce the old fashioned way and make old fashioned salads.

not sure but i've heard it's BAD.
