Answers:
Marshmallows and other gummy sweets are made with gelatin, which is made from animal bones, tendons, and yes, skin.

It is called a slaughter byproduct because the animal must die to produce it. It is therefore not considered to be vegetarian.

But don't fear, their are vegetarian alternatives.

ewww no. it consists of sugar or corn syrup, beaten egg whites, gelatin that has been pre-softened in water, gum arabic, and flavorings, whipped to a spongy consistency.

they are made with gelatin, which comes from pig fat, cow fat, or animal fat in general.

Marshmallows are made with geletin. There are several sources of geletin, including vegetarian. Find kosher parev marshmallows they are made without animal products.

No, it doesn't, but it does consist of gelatin which is made from cow hooves. That sucks, doesn't it? I used to love marshmallows and gummies and jello.

Marshmallows are pretty much pure sugar. There is certainly no skin of any kind in them.

Sadly, like other people said, most marshmallows do have gelatin. I've seen plenty of gelatin item alternatives at health food stores though. It sucks, doesn't it? I also read that the icing on poptarts have gelatin and very few are vegan. :(

Gelatin is made of animal collagen and sugar. Animal collagen comes from skin, membranes and cartilage.

marsmalloware made of milk !! the whips it up the make it all gummy!!! and yeah _they try to mess w/ you!!!_ and i think it is milk AND sugar _or maybe sugar

marshmellos arnt made of pig skin but they are made with gelatin which is a powder usesed to thicken the marshmellows and that is made out of shredded pig/cow/horse bones or hooves.
other products with gelatin include skittles starburst store bought jelly, most hard candy including lolly pops and jolly ranchers, a lot of pasterys that have cream
jello is gelatin
oreos, ritz and anyother cookie or cracker that has a creamy filling besides chocolate...but if the chocolate is puffy than i would take a look.
most gelatin capsules in medicine unless stated otherwise

hope that helped
PS not all of the previous foods necesarily have gelatin in it but all of the above have animal products in it

No they grow on trees!

If nobody told you that you would still eat gelatin!!!!

And they don't kill cows just to eat their hooves...Jello is delicious! And so are marshmallows.

Technecally speaking, yes. They have gelatin in them, and gelatin is basically made with the remains of the cows, pigs, and other animals. The hooves, tails, and skin are all ground up and melted together. At least, I think that's how it's made.

Marshmallows contain gelatin.. Gelatin is extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue. It typically comes from cows, pigs, and horses. Special kinds of gelatin are made only from certain animals or from fish (known as K-gelatin) in order to comply with Jewish kosher or Muslim halal laws. Vegetarians and vegans may substitute similar gelling agents such as agar, nature gum, carrageenan, pectin, or konnyaku sometimes referred to as "vegetable gelatins".
If gelatin is something you wish to avoid, be aware it's in many products. Any kind of jelly-like candy, some beers, capsules for medicines and vitamins, and camera film all contain gelatin.
Incidentally, since gelatin is made of collagen, it's fat-free. That's one of Jell-O's main selling point.
