Vegetarian question?!

Question:

Vegetarian question?

ok, i want to become a vegetarian but i could NEVER give up milk. I love cows, but i can't live without chocolte milk :)....do you think i would still be a proper vegetarian?

Answers:
It's a process. I am a vegan and I miss milk alot. I drink Silk chocolate soymilk and that does the trick for that craving. You can also get soy ice creams that taste amazingly like the real thing. The only things I haven't been able to replace are cheese and regular milk for my cereal, but you learn to adapt.

If you do buy milk, I encourage you to buy it from local, small farmers. Firstly, they need the money more than anyone, and secondly, you can see how they treat their animals so you're sure they're not abusing them.

Yes, you just wouldn't be Vegan.

Yup. You just wouldn't be a crazy VEGAN!

Vegetarians can still drink milk. Vegans cannot. Try soy milk though, it's quite good.

Why not just give up the whole idea and eat some wholesome, nutritious bats?

Many vegetarians drink milk and eat dairy products. Vegans avoid all animal products entirely.

Yes because there types of Vegetarians who drink milk.

A vegan doesnt eat dairy, vegetarians do, however Id urge you to give soy milk a try. Youd be surprised at how good it is ..! I gave my boyfriend hell when he urged me to be vegan but now im glad i gave in..there are alot of great vegan cheeses too!

there are various types of vegetarian
...some eat dairy products
... and don't worry about being a 'proper' anything ... it is more strain on you than it is worth.
.. eat what your body
tells you, what you 'have a taste for' .... also milk is quite high in protein, so not to worry ...

Depends on how you define "vegetarian". The radicals won't use any animal products at all. At the other extreme are those who just give up beef and pork, and will still eat poultry and fish. Most "vegans" are somewhere in the middle, and wouldn't have a problem using animal products, as long as the animal wasn't killed for them. Cows need to be milked, and given that fact of nature, why waste it? Drink up and be proud chick. Don't worry what other people think. As Rick Nelson put it, "You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself!"

You would just be a lacto-vegetarian. But I wouldn't say never until you have tasted 8th contient chocolate soy milk. That stuff is AWESOME. Good luck.

yes it is a vegan that dosent drink milk or eat cheese or anyhting like that

sure you can .I still drunk milk, you need that milk girl go for!
A lot there great things in milk ;)

Becoming a vegetarian is a good start. You will have already improved your health and reduced the killing. I find that people who try to automatically become vegans tend to fail because it's too much of a change. They tend to find that weening themselves off gradually is a better option. As for drinking milk, you can always try soy or rice milk. I use rice milk on everything I would have previously used cow's milk on, but I also drink Silk chocolate soy milk in the mini cartons. I think they are even better than cow's milk.

You'd be a vegetarian, but not a vegan. It's funny the things people say they could never give up. I used to say I could never give up cheese, but it's been 5 years now, and if I accidentally do (there was an incident with a salad, I thought it was tofu), it tastes sour and revolting. Chocolate soy milk is delicious hot or cold. :-)

it doesn't matter if you are a vegetarian and drink milk. you are confusing vegan and vegetarian. vegetarian is where you don't eat meat, and vegan is where you don't have any animal products. so, to answer your question, you would be a proper vegetarian.

You would be a vegetarian, you just wouldn't be a vegan.

Yep, you sure would. Veggies can drink milk and eat cheese and eggs. You'd only have to give it up if you were interested in becoming vegan.

I'm all about being vegan, though, so you might want to test the waters with milk-alternatives and just see how you like it. I thought soy milk tasted like watered-down Elmer's glue at first, but now I prefer it, hands-down (and yes, there's a chocolate version!).
