I like bok choy and would like some recipes.?!

Question:

I like bok choy and would like some recipes.?

I"ve been eating bok choy in salads and I'm
wondering if anyone knows of any idiot proof
"non- salad recipes". Any help much appreciated.

Hey,
I was just cruising through some recipes for another asker, and I found this recipe. It looks pretty tasty.
http://www.all-creatures.org/recipes/bok...

Anyway, it also makes a ton of food, so maybe you can cut down the recipe respectively (or find a fine, chess-playing, bok choy-loving lady to invite over to help you eat it.)
:)

Also, I really love spinach, so I toss it in most things like spaghetti, garlic pasta, Chinese dishes and stir frys... maybe you can experiment like that with the choy.

For whatever reason, many bok choy recipes call for oyster sauce. I heard that some health markets carry a vegetarian version, which has a mushroom base.
:)

Try stir-frying it. You'll need oil, Garlic (chopped), oyster sauce, or soy sauce, white pepper, and any veggie you'd like to add.

Put your oil in the sauce pan and heat it up.( Good rule: hot pan, hot fat.) Add your garlic. After the garlic cooks for a bit add your bok choy, it will get a little limp. Then add your oyster sauce(or soy sauce if that's all that is available.) Then eat with white rice. It's so yummy! It only takes about 5 minutes to cook.

Its generally used in stir fry. You can add it in fried noodles, soup noodles, anything rly.

BOK CHOY AND MUSHROOMS STIRFRY

A large bunch of bok choy, with root ends cut off
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 cup oyster mushrooms (or any mushrooms you prefer)
3 tbsps oyster sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsps cooking oil
salt, pepper, and sugar to taste

If using dried mushrooms, soak them in warm water for about 20 minutes. When rehydrated, cut off the stalks and chop into quarters or dice them if they're rather large.

Dissolve starch in 1 cup of water. Add the oyster sauce and sesame seed oil and mix to blend well.

Heat cooking oil in skillet. Saute garlic until fragrant. Add the bok choy and mushrooms and toss for about 30 seconds. Season with salt, pepper, and a lil' sugar. Pour in the starch solution and stir lightly until the sauce thickens and becomes clear. Serve at once. Enjoy! =)

It is quite good just steamed, like Silver beet or Spinach.

I use it alot in soups paticularly asian soup like cocunut soup or with soba noodles

I luv Bok Choy cooked. Slice & stir fry with carrots, onions, garlic, bell peppers.. splash with a wee bit of soy sauce

I like it stir fried with sesame oil, and sometimes sprinkled with sesame seeds. I also like to "wilt" it by putting it briefly in boiling water, then adding it to miso soup. Consider using it the same way you use cabbage - you can mix it with mashed potatoes, etc.
