Is jello vegan?
i have heard of vegetarian gelatin but i really don't know what jello is made of to begin with
Answers:
Jello is not even vegetarian. It is made of gelatin, which is the bone and tendons of an animal.
You can make jello by using agar agar instead. It is made from seaweed.

No gelatin is what makes jello jell and it is an animal byproduct.
no...gelatin is what makes up jello mostly, and gelatin is a mix of animal byproducts, like bones, skin....leftover extras....sorry...didn't mean to gross you out.. :{
jello isnt even vegetarian. it has gelatin in it which comes from cow/horse bones/hooves
Sorry jello is not vegetarian... It is made with gelatin...
they do make vegetarian "jello" type things... agar agar I think... I don't know any brand names though... sorry.
No, Jell-O brand is not vegetarian because gelatin is an animal product which can come from bones, hooves, etc. Almost any health food store you go to is likely to have a vegetarian type of jello, which is just as easy to make as the traditional stuff.

You can buy kosher products but Jello contains animal byproducts.
Then there's Worchester sauce, with the anchovy base ....
Lots of hidden animal food sources in the mix. You gotta do your homework if you want to be faithful to vegetarianism.
jello contains Gelatin
Gelatin is made from pig's feet.
THere IS a vegan brand called "Emes Kosher Jel" which is made from a plant source, no animal products.
They even sell packets in good flavors like Jello
Try an Adventist Book Center to find it.
