What is a good easy jicama recipe?!

Question:

What is a good easy jicama recipe?

my fridge is not very well stocked at the moment- and im a bit sunburned and menstrual(lol) i DO NOT feel like grocery shopping today! i want to use the jicama but have no idea what to do with it. i saw somewhere about jicama french fries? jicama and lime? has anyone came up with their own jicama recipe?

Answers:
I totally understand about the not wanting to go shopping! I was in the same situation last week--my arms were soooo red and sore from sun burn that I could barely sleep. I need to remember to start wearing sunscreen!
Anyways, on to your question.
Jicama and lime is classic pairing, but you can make it a little more special by adding some strawberries. It has a nice crunch that is a good contrast the soft berry. I also like it with sliced oranges for something different (fennel is also great with oranges by the way!).
It is also a nice addition to stir fries and soups. I have used it has an alternative to water chesnuts when I make veggie-tofu stir fry. It's crunchy when cooked, just not as sweet.

Enjoy!

The best way to enjoy it, is with lemons and lots of chili-powder... mmh mmh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh!!!!!!!!...

Jicama is really great in most slaw recipes! I personally just do a simple jicama & cucumber salad that I toss with a little vinegar, a touch of sugar, some minced garlic and ginger and just toss it around. It is really yummy, especially after it marinates for an hour or more.
