It's kind of hard to compare the two, but steaming is the best way to cook them. Tonight I steamed some broccoli, then put it in a fry pan for a minute with some olive oil and crushed garlic. Yummm

It depends on the Veggi since steamed cucumber is not so tempting. But one real important thing: vegetables need fat (oil or butter) in order to set free their vitamins eg carotin. Raw or cooked - you should add some.
