Do oysters have feelings??!

Question:

Do oysters have feelings??

I'm about to eat an oyster and feel guilty, do they have feelings or brains??

Answers:
Of course they ahve feelings, why would they close when you tap on their shell? They can feel the vibration.

Nope - eat, drink, and be merry. Hope it makes your horny!

Mollusks do not have central nervous systems , so no they can't feel pain.

no they do not have feelings...Every animal has brains i'm afraid, I do wonder about yourself though...

Its a living animal I guess it does but once you pop open the shell that suckers dead.Thats how it makes a pearl it feels the grain of sand and trys to expell it and rubs and rubs it untill it hardens into a pearl.

yes but they taste good anyway

I only eat plants attached to the ground with roots, and there is a big variety of those as most of us here know. I dont eat oysters, mussels or anything else like that. They do not belong in the typical definition of animals though, but they are certainly not plants either.

I dont know how many times in my entire life I actually ate any of these sea creatures so I never felt like I was missing out on anything. Unlike farm animals this doesnt feel like something that I had to "quit" eating. It was never part of my lifestyle or everyday diet.

My biggest issue with oysters, clams, etc,, is that other animals get killed, such as fish in the process of fishing for those previously mentioned.

just eat the G.D. thing and shut up
