Do you know of any vegans who are overweight?!

Question:

Do you know of any vegans who are overweight?

Just wondering...

Answers:
Yes, my cousin is a vegan who is slightly overweight. Vegans tend to eat a lot of nuts and seeds for protein, and this can add up to a lot of fat.

yes

My friend.

No! None at all- all the vegans that I know are also in very good shape.

yep,

good question.

I know it's hard to believe isn't it.

Yes, I do. Not a close friend, only see him a couple times a month.

He is vegan though and he is massive.

Most of that bulk can probably be attributed to vast quantities of beer and chips though.

Yes. I actually do. I know overweight vegans, and vegetarians. Several in fact.

My Name is Gagnish and I am vegetarian and I am overweight by 10 kgs

lots of them
quantity of food vs quality of food.
having a balanced meal is far better.
have some bbq ribs and corn on the cob with a biscuit.
Now thats good food

That's an oxymoron.

someone ..you know..but eating some meat is better for healthy

I'm inclined to think that, no matter what your eating habits, too much of anything can make you overweight.

Know that I think about No I dnt

I'm sure there's plenty out there, but I don't know any personally. I'm not considered overweight, but I have always been a bit chubby. People aren't always overweight because of their diets though, a lot of people have disabilities and medical problems, and different metabolisms which affect their weight.

I dont know any vegans that are overweight, those that I know are all slim and healthy looking.

But in theory it is possible for a vegan to be unhealhy if he/she only lives on chips and cupcakes, doesnt eat veggies and doesnt exercise. Even though most of us are ethical veg*ns, most vegans and vegetarians are aware of what food they're putting in their mouth, more so than carnivores.

I know of some vegetarians that are overweight but not vegans. But as other people have suggested it depends on what you eat and the amount you eat. I do know that the vegans I know have less health issues, beautiful skin and a real zest for life.

Most of the overweight people I know are overweight because they eat too many calories and burn too few. Being vegan or an omnivore has nothing to do with it

no - all the vegans i come across seem a bit on the skinny side and pale in color.

Yes, but only because she hasn't been Vegan long enough to loose the weight yet. To answer your question yes, there are some overweight Vegans, just not many.

Personally no, I don't know any overweight vegans. My vegan friends are all lean and very healthy. But I do know a couple overweight vegetarians. (and funny, but now that I think about it, they're vegetarian for health reasons lol)

But I don't think it's really a factor of people being vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore. There are plenty of vegan recipes for cakes, cookies, and sweets. So there's no shortage of opportunities to be a "junk-food" vegan. I just think when you're a vegan you really pay so much more attention to the content and quality of the food you eat, you just naturally become much more health conscious than the average person.

Sure do... they like too many sweet rolls and white bread . Wine has about 100 calories per 4 oz, so if they are drinkers , that ups the calorie count.
