Answers:
Okay, I was hoping I'd be more help, cuz I love growing things, but I googled "growing papaya" and "growing papaya indoors", and it looks like if you want to do it, you would have to do it indoors. Plus, there are 3 different "sexes" of papaya seeds, so depends on which one you plant, whether it would actually grow fruit or not. I will pass on some of the links that I found that talk about it...

i would say it is possible. i wouldn't say they will taste anywhere near edible.fruits grown in their native climates develop their flavours naturally through the same way their ancestors did for thousands of years.if you take something tropical and plant it in utah, it will not have proper humidity or sunlight/rain water for the proper amount of time.unless this is a bet, i would say just shell out the cash and buy one next time you get a craving for papaya.
Sure, in a greenhouse planted in the ground. You'd have to heat the greenhouse especially in winter. You could use a water heater for that perhaps. They are basically a pipe put into the ground and the water is heated by the ground naturally, the only energy you need to provide is for the pump. It's in lots of homes and building, but in greenhouses too? Probably. Otherwise, you'd have to use electricity, gas, or burn wood or something.
I do not think that it's possible to grow Papayas in Utah that would taste good or even survive with the very cold weather. It is also probably too dry for them to survive because it's far from being humid.
