Vegan is not just food ..it is clothing , shoes, cosmetics, cleaning products etc .. so first I think it is great you want to do this and the best thing to do is as you use up items replace with vegan items ..here is a list to help you get started ...1) milk:replace with soy, rice or almond milk 2) milk chocolate: replace with dark chocolate(vegan) or carob ..also candies like peanut chews are vegan 3) breads : many contain milk or animal shortening ..very easy to find vegan ones..just read ingrediants 4) potato chips , cheese puffs :replace all with ones containing no milk or animal ingrediants 5) toothpaste:replace crest let's say with Tom's (found in most drug stores or supermarkets) 6 ) replace next pair of shoes with non leather shoes ..lots of sights on line or local shoe store should have some 7) eliminate all products containing gelatin as Jello and " iced " poptarts 8) replace your qtips ..no johnson and johnson .. usually store brands are not tested on animals..You can ask 9) cosmetics ..any one you are replacing make sure it contains no animal products and was not tested on animals lipstick, eyeliner etc ..this is not hard today and many shops , drug stores or online can show you which brands ..and most no longer test but many still contain animal products in them 10) what you wash clothes with ..most major brands on tested on animals in cruel ways ..and NO clorox..use store brand ..Clorox is a big animal abuser !as is Protor and Gamble ! most store brands are not .. and you can by at whole foods supermarket ones that aren't as well ..as you can see it is much more then what you eat ..so start slow , replacing and beginning to read great luck!!

vegan forever

dont eat the following

chicken
steak
hamburgers or cheesburgers
bacon
porkchops
fish
ham
sausage
pepperonis
turkey
bolonga
lunchmeat
roastbeaf
theres more but i cant think of no more lol

milk, cheese, eggs, whey, casein, yogurt, ice cream, sour cream, cream cheese, fish, other seafood, meat, poultry

fortunately, everything has a great vegan replacement!

a good way to start might be to look for a vegan cookbook. if you are already vegetarian, it's just a matter of replacing milk and egg with other items. most cookbooks have information about cooking and the foods used in the recipes, as well as recipes. it's also a lot eaiser to avoid animal products if you make your own food. good luck.

this is a good website for food
it's got videos to teach you how to cook

go there, everyone
make some homemade fries and junk

Read labels. Search the internet for "Animal Ingredients" and you will find lists, none of them comprehensive, so cross-reference.

Eat a variety of "whole foods," with plenty of beans, nuts, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Avoid unhealthy foods like trans fats, which are usually listed as partially hydrogenated oils. Deep-fried foods often contain trans fats. Choose margarines that use nonhydrogenated oil, like Earth Balance or Smart Balance. Although a diet consisting of Coke and French fries is technically vegan, you can't be healthy if you eat nothing but junk food. Vitamin B12: Vitamin B12 is produced by bacteria, and some experts believe that vegetarians used to get plenty of this vitamin from bacteria in drinking water. Since drinking water is now treated with chemicals that kill the bacteria, it's important to make sure that you get enough vitamin B12 from fortified foods (like most brands of soy or rice milks, some breakfast cereals, and many brands of nutritional yeast) on a daily basis or by taking a sublingual B12 tablet of 10 mcg per day

Iron-beans, dark green leafy vegetables (like spinach),whole grain breads, Also eat something with vitamin c when you eat something with iron, it increases absorption

Calcium-dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, broccoli, soymilk)

Protein-Isn't really hard to get, just eat a variety of foods, good sources are beans, brown rice, nuts, whole grain breads, soy foods

Omega-3 fatty acids-flax seeds/oil,walnuts,canola oil

Zinc-pumpkin seeds (best source), beans and lentils, yeast, nuts, seeds and whole grain cereals

Selenium-Brazil nuts are a particularly good source of selenium, so try to eat a couple every day. Eating a small bag of mixed unsalted nuts can be a convenient way to get your daily selenium intake, but make sure it contains Brazils. Bread and eggs also provide some selenium.

Vitamin D- Vitamin D, often called the sunshine vitamin, is another common deficiency in those not drinking vitamin D fortified milk. Synthetic vitamin D is added to both cow’s milk and most brands of soy milk today.

Vitamins A (beta carotene),C, K, E and Folate-variety of fruits and veggies

Iodine-Iodine is a trace mineral that's important for healthy thyroid function. Table salt is the most common and reliable source of iodine in Americans' diets. (However, sodium in processed foods usually does not contain iodine.) If you don't consume table salt, you can get iodine from a multivitamin or from kelp tablets.

Start with dairy. Switch to soy milk. You will need to read labels on packages items though..so many pre-packaged items contain some sort of animal product. I suggest sticking to whole foods like whole grains, veggies, nuts, beans etc.

No, but I can give you some good resorces to help you along.

Good Luck!

i have been a veggie for over 5 years.
i was a vegetarian for 3 years then moved to vegan.
it toke me about 3 weeks to move off dairy.
take it slow
change your milk to soy milk
then stop eating cheese
after a while it will become less hard
look up all the words that mean dairy and start looking for them in food. you will be shocked at all the thing that has dairy.
good luck ^.^
