Two part question for Vegetarians?!

Question:

Two part question for Vegetarians?

One. What are the reasons and/or benefits seen after becoming a vegetarian?
and Two. What is the difference between a vegetarian and a Vegen?
I don't know that there is a difference, but what I have seen is that the vegen is more hard core about it.

Honest and realistic answers will be appreciated.

I am not asking about the philosophy behind the decision, but rather the physical differences.
This would be best answered from somebody who made the conscious decision to refrain from meat, rather than somebody who was brought up in the vegetarian beliefs.

Thanks for the clarification of the Vegen

BTW, I do not eat pork as it is a dirty meat in the Bible.
I do not see any reasons to refrain from kosher meats tho'

I read today that Daniel (of the Old Testament) was a vegetarian. (In a comparable study of Daniel and Revelation
Ezekial describes Daniels diet of cereals, legumes, fruits, nuts, and vegetables along with clear water to drink.

im 12 and i decided to become a veggie for the animals last summer. i havent lost much weight but i have healthier skin. im not sure if that has much to do with it. a lot of vegetarians eat sweets to make up for the fact that they arent eating meat, thats not right. theres a difference between good fats and bad fats, twinkies being a bad one. vegans do not eat any animal bi-products. such as eggs or milk. some don't wear leather.

A Vegen dosn't eat fish or chicken.

First of all, vegetarians are people who do not eat meat. Although officially that means not eating sea food, some vegetarians refrain from not only eating chicken, turkey and pig but also fish and other sea foods. Vegans are people who do not eat any product coming from an animal such as eggs, cheese and milk. I have recently (December 2006) become a vegetarian and I love it! I've noticed that I do not miss eating meat and that I like it better when I don't eat it. There are many health benefits like a lower risk of heart disease among others that make it worth it.

1 because i dont need to take a life to live 2 i feel much better after becomeing a Vegetarian and vegen dont eat dairy or meat

Ok, The reasons/benefits are, If you become one, you will save about 500 cows, chickens, pigs from being brutally killed by the time you die. And It is much healthier because there are so many growth hormones in meats.
